That's the website of Eddie Bernice Johnson, who is supposedly spearheading the effort. Texas Democrat. Can't find anything on her site about UN watchdogs for 2004. Under "Issues" she has a page for Election Reform, but it's "Under Construction." She's got a contact page though.

Florida representative Eddie Bernice Johnson

Okay, I realize the Dems have been messing around with the district boundaries again, but stretching the boundary of Texas' 30th district to cover Florida is quite a feat!

Some people create satire through careful application of their literary skills, some by the simple act of breathing. These guys are in the latter group.

Just when I think I'll never have to say "Just when I think Dems have sunk as low as they can get" again, they do something else dumber than the last 80 stupid things they did.

"These people are damned traitors for even suggesting we need UN in on our elections. "

This is exactly what I think too.
We are a sovereign Republic, not some third world dictatorship, which would need UN observers.

To even suggest, to put the UN over us, is giving up our sovereignty and become subservient to the UN.

It's way past time for us to get out of the UN, and let it meet it's timely demise.

Eddie BJ had a comment relating to Cynthia McKinney's defeat: Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-Tex.), chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, told the Post that "at the grass roots" among African-American voters, there is a growing perception that "Jewish people are attempting to pick our leaders...There is some concern about that that. It's concern about any candidate being targeted by a special-interest group for voting on any one issue." (excerpt from http://www.bet.com/articles/1,,c1gb3661-4336,00.html)

The news article says the congress persons are Blacks and I guess Socialists/Communists. Is it all right to be prejudiced against these fools? As long as the Black American elects these types there is going to be a racial problem in the Good Ole USofA.

Can a group of rogue Congressment just invite in the UN?

Wouldn't that have to be some bill that Congress votes on?

Whom are they going to invite in next, Castro?

according to a statement issued by Florida representative Eddie Bernice Johnson, who spearheaded the effort.

The author of the article is as stupid as Eddie Bernice Johnson. Her district is in Texas, not Florida.

another bit of info: "...House Bill 211, sponsored by Representatives Cynthia MacKinney and Eddie Bernice Johnson, that urges the Bush Administration to send Secretary of State Colin Powell to the UN World Conference on Racism to demonstrate to the world the seriousness with which the US approaches not only the Conference, but the global situation of racial discrimination, to contribute financially to the Conference, and to adopt policy positions at the Conference that seek to advance an understanding of current historic factors contributing to racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia, and related intolerance." Hasn't this claim been pretty thoroughly debunked, or laid at the feet of an incompotent election manager in one county who happens to also be Black?

Yes, the claim was and of course still is complete garbage.

I'm sure there probably were a couple of folks that were intimidated at seeing police officers in the vicinity a voting location, but anyone who falls in that category is most likely a wanted criminal anyway.

The dims keep poking the conservatives in the ribs, causing a distinct twitch that could result in CWII. They will try anything to win a race. At some point the gloves will come off.

"The "Biospehere Zones" established here in the U.S. might be a place. Do a Google search, it is informative to find out how we have incrementally begun to give up our sovereignty."

I think Escalante was added to the list (by Clinton), but I'm not sure.

What is happening to our country????

Something is obviously happening. It was so obvious by 1994 that the Republicans were able to overturn the dominance by the Democrats in Congress. But the awakening was short-lived--the attention span of the masses is about 4 minutes. The ursurpers continue to gain control over America.

I suppose if I am to continue to use the word, I should attempt to spell it at least as well as Babelfish might. USURPERS. Usurpers--those who possess without right, who seize by force or deceit.
