At http://space.jpl.nasa.gov/samples/ - there's a movie of the Saturn orbit insertion as seen from Cassini that I drafted using the 1997 version of the Solar System Simulator and a Linux-based MPEG generator.
Dave Seal's definitely made some serious improvements to the software since then, as the pictures you've posted make quite clear.
It's a great educational tool, and given the speed of computers and networks the quality can only improve.

The version of Solar System simulator the Cassini project is using is enhanced a bit, I think.
Did you ever sense a shift in him at a particular point, or did you see it as gradual? There is a trend for most popular scientist celebrities to go off target as they get older, and Sagan's toking aside, I think that's really what happened to him.
You're right. People like Fred Hoyle became crackpots. I wonder if he was smoking weed, too.
are we going to see any actual photos that come from the data sent back?
