CNN and MSNBC giving the story just passing interest. Why am I not surprised.

Of course we know that anything good for the Bush administration is against their agenda.

I actually heard some positive comments on NPR today, I almost fell over.

Hi Sistah and All. We hope the crisis is over. Kelly was moved out of ICU yesterday afternoon. She is doing better, but still very weak. Son is scared to death to bring her home now. He came so close to losing her. Emma is just sleeping through it all. Her other Maw Maw is caring for her at night. We thought it best to keep her in as few hands as possible. Thank you for your prayers.

Today certainly is a red letter day. It was great to wake up to see that Dubya showed another Straight Flush. Wonder why his enemies never catch on? LOL. He is one great poker player. I absolutely love that picture of him and Blair shaking hands and smirking. Warms my heart. The note from Condi is a keeper. Yes, he did pen the "Let Freedom Reign" on the note. Saw it on another thread.

Sistah, I see we have something else in common. We both love storms. I learned to love them when I lived in Miami. The noise and fireworks in that tropical climate was very exciting. They also cooled the air down, which was a welcome result.

LOL. I've still got the note in my mouse Colleen. I think I'll put it on my profile page. I just love looking at it.

Thanks for the link. A co-worker is taking his wife and son to see the movie tonight. We sometimes get into 'heated' discussions...LOL I asked him how much the tickets are, he said $10, I told him I wouldn't be seeing the movie, but will donate an additional $30 to Bush/Cheney '04. Again, thanks for the link, I will direct him to it tomorrow :-)

Just sent the following e-mail to our "Letters to the Editor."

How can Americans possibly re-elect a LIAR to the office of The President of the United States. For months in every news conference or public addresses, Bush has promised that Iraq will receive its sovereignty on June 30th. That man cannot be trusted. Next thing you know he'll tell us he failed to meet the June 30th deadline "because I could."

I will be praying for Dawn and her family, Mayor.

Thank you Kitty, they have had a rough 9 months.
One day the little one (Noah 4yrs) was upset and crying and she said "I want my Daddy back" it about ripped my Heart out. Russ has been paralyzed since his fall in October and has suffered brain damage and loss of memory.

He did the same stuff as I do, roofing, siding and remodeling, he fell off his own roof from 25 feet up, landed on his head, he's lucky to be alive.

Defense Department Updates Vietnam War MIA Families

_ _ The Defense Prisoner of War/Missing Personnel Office (DPMO) hosted a
series of national government briefings for approximately 200 family members of
Vietnam War MIAs Thursday and Friday in Arlington, Va.

Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for POW/MIA Affairs Jerry D.
Jennings, who served as the senior host for the annual government briefings, opened
the two-day event by highlighting recent breakthroughs in the POW/MIA issue with
Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. Jennings is responsible for policy oversight and
control of the worldwide mission to account for America's missing from all
conflicts.

The annual gathering was tailored to address the concerns of families
whose loved ones are missing from the Vietnam War. Of the more than 88,000
Americans who are missing in action from all conflicts, 1,858 are from the Vietnam
War.

Throughout the year, families receive individualized updates on their
specific cases. These government briefings in Washington present broader
information on the effort to account for missing servicemen. The presentations
last week covered a wide range of topics including negotiations with North Korea,
China and Russia; archival research; field investigations and recovery operations;
and the use of DNA in identifying remains.

Casualty officers from each of the military services, as well as
specialists from DPMO and other Department of Defense agencies, updated individual
family members on the status of their cases. Jennings also met with leaders of
several family organizations as well as with dozens of family members.

The DPMO holds similar updates in cities across the country, as well as
two annual government briefings in Washington, and has reached more than 10,000
family members through this outreach effort.

Additional information on POW/MIA accounting may be found on the DPMO
web site at www.dtic.mil/dpmo [http://www.dtic.mil/dpmo] or by calling (703)
699-1169.

Remains of American MIA Found in North Korea

Remains believed to be those of an American soldier missing in action from the Korean War have been recovered by a U.S. team and will be repatriated at Yongsan Military Compound in Seoul on July 1.

The joint remains recovery work is the result of negotiations with North Korea led by Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for POW/Missing Personnel
Affairs, Jerry D. Jennings. The remains will be returned overland from North Korea across the demilitarized zone as was done in late May for the first recovery operation of 2004.

A joint team operating near the Chosin Reservoir in North Korea recovered the remains believed to be those of a U.S. Army soldier from the 7th
Infantry Division who fought against Chinese forces November-December 1950.

Approximately 1,000 Americans are estimated to have been lost in battles of the Chosin campaign.

The 28-person U.S. contingent was composed of specialists from the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command, Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii, where the remains will be flown to begin the forensic identification process.

Since 1996, 29 joint operations have been conducted in North Korea, during which more than 200 remains believed to be those of U.S. soldiers have been
recovered. Of the 88,000 U.S. service members missing in action from all conflicts, more than 8,100 are from the Korean War.
