I found this posted over at Rantburg.
Iraqi officials in Hilla said a man had been captured who resembled Zarqawi and spoke with a similar accent.
Polands PAP news agency quoted General Mieczyslaw Bieniek, head of the Polish force in Iraq, as saying: "I cannot confirm that such an operation has ended with success, it requires certain identification. A statement will be issued on this matter."
DNA testing is going on...I'll bet.
I read another one, though, where a Polish official said the detainee definitely looked like Zarqawi but was not him. I wouldn't hold my breath on this one. If the Coalition were awaiting DNA testing, Kimmitt wouldn't come out and call the reports false. He'd just refuse comment pending investigation, or something like that.
If he is taken out right now the psychological boost would be tremendous.
let's hope bogdan isn't the Polish doctor doing the DNA tests!
We usually agree......but not on this one......look how it is parsed.
ROFLMAO!!!!!!
If it is him...then hand him over to the Iraqis. They will have a special punishment for him. And they will likely bring in some Muslim mullah who will take away the 72 virgin women deal...and his Muslim protection to heaven. That will wipe any smile off this dude's face. He will burn long and hard...and wish he hadn't ever lived.
That would be great news for the New Iraq, to have this pos and DNA identified.
That's okay. You're allowed to be wrong once in a while. ;-)
LOL!
I am hoping this is true too! If it it true, this will be a major setback for the terrorist thugs who are in Iraq. If it is also true, with the handover of Iraq to the new interim government, I've heard the interim government would like nothing more than to deal a very heavy hand of justice to Saddam and the insurgents in Iraq.
