Kudos to Sir John. It's about time he put some $$ into politics. If all super-rich conservatives stepped up to the plate like this, we'd go into the election much stronger.
Icing on the cake: Barry Lynn's dismayed reaction. At an awards ceremony for religion writers that was fouled by his presence, I once had the pleasure of telling Mr. Lynn to hush when he was speaking too loudly during someone's presentation. But better yet to make him scream, the little fascist.

When Soros arrived on these shores as a young man, he was already an acclaimed financier
and possessed a first-class honours degree from one of the UK's best universities.
Soros' first-rate academic and financial mind are apparent to all.
I just wish he'd do more speeches and have them recored for public consumption.
The one speech I heard was "ready to air" for talk radio; a full-course rambling,
ranting and ridiculous monologue.

Religious conservatives are a unique kind of swing voter, Hanna opined. They dont swing between Bush and Kerry, but between Bush and not voting.
Interesting point. I don't think it's necessarily true, or at least not recently (Clinton '92, Clinton '96, Gore '00...).
George W. Bush will be reelected by a margin of at least ten per cent
