Nothing should stop the release of a film... but it is being called "documentary" by some- can you believe that?

I don't want to see anyone's movie blocked, no matter what.

I'd be willing to bet you'd get government to block pro-conservative movies if you could.

Especially over something as trivial as the title.

That nagging thing called copyright.

I imagine if it was "Arkansas 451, the temrature the constitution burns" about the Clinton years the lawsuit would have been served upon the producer as the idea left his lips.

But what I've noticed is Moore never says it's a documentary. It's always the media or the award shows because they put his movie in the "Documentary" category.

It's pure entertainment for the ignorant. THat Moore's audience never corrects the error by saying that it's NOT a documentary also indicates the level of ignorance of the audience.

That is not the issue here. The issue is pulling the copyright off of Farenheit 451. Does Moore have a legal obligation to change the title? Does Mr. Bradbury have a right to compensation?

What are Mr. Bradbury's damages since the film has already been released.

So, according to you, all Muslims are terrorists? Maybe you need to read up a little more on Islam.

No, you just need to read posts a little more carefully.

You are just trolling.

I can't imagine why you would say that no one's film should be blocked. What about Leni Whatserface, the propagandist for Hitler? She helped him stay in/gain power. Supposedly she was good at her craft. Just so happened her talents helped Hitler kill millions.

Should her films have been blocked?

Moore is evil, too, and lies. Why shouldn't his propaganda be blocked if someone can legitimately do so?

Welcome aboard. I don't see anything nefarious in your comments, but regulars can see you just joined yesterday, thus the suspicion.

I have a suggestion for Letterman...put up a top ten list of stupid and bogus things that MM would say in a movie/documentary. And then, the funny thing...is that they would all be true. Letterman represents the little guy in America...he really isn't suited for New York city...because he asks real questions.

I'll bet SS was booted, not for what he said, but for misrepresenting himself - like signing up under a new name after being previously banned. Just a guess.

When Mikey Moore-on made a movie that he acknowledged as fiction ("Canadian Bacon"), it turned out to be one of the biggest bombs of the 20th Century. Since then, he's found that he sells more tickets and gets better reviews when he portrays his fiction as "factual"

Just look at the guy. He's a fat slob who's obviously ashamed of himself because he always wears black (which is supposed to make you look thin).

That perpetual three day stubble is the crowning touch. Does he have the same style consultant as Yasser Arafat?

***Can you copyright a title? I know songwriters can't....are the conventions different in the book world?***

No, you can't copyright a title, but try naming one something like "Gone With the Wind," and see what happens. Copyright law is based on the amount of work which has been stolen from another writer. If Bradbury can prove that too much of his work has been pilfered, thus denying him his rightful compensation for his work, he could win a law suit. Since he's planning another release of his book, and another movie about it, he might just win.
