I am not suggesting that the American people should be responsibe for them. I am just commenting on what desperation can drive people to do. The woman was giving birth under a bush 30 miles into rugged terraine after she crossed the Rio Grand & by the time an ambulance arrived, she & the baby were gone. These are tough people, kind of like the ones who first settled this land wouldn't you say? Not like the softies we/I have become.

A pregnant woman who attempts to cross a desert is not tough, she is stupid. And they are driven by poverty, driven to look for a better life, or so we're told. If that makes them tough then so am I.

My ancestors came to Texas in wagons & on horseback in the 1820's & 30's. They were civilized Christian people determined to start a new life. That is the kind of tough I am talking about.

I had lunch with some friends the other day. 2 were white South Africans one was Dutch & 2 of us were native Texans. The 3 foreigners were whineing about how difficult it was to come here & get all the legal papers, get a drivers license, bank account etc. I remarked that it was easier than walking 300 miles thru brush cactus & rattlesnakes.

My understanding is that the Indians actually aid the coyotes in smuggling immigrants and take a cut of the money.

Nope. Not true. Not even close.

The slave-traders do get assistance on Indian lands, but it's from the likes of the Humane Borders (Sanctuary) and Humanos Derechos people in Tucson and Phoenix.
