The anti-gun crowd is wrong and the people who expect public school teachers to demonstrate decency and moral integrity both in and out of the classroom are right. ROFL!!! I don't think attending a Chippendales show is illustrative of indecency or immorality. Now what?

And I'm not saying nobody should be allowed to teach because some teachers lack integrity. I'm saying don't let the reckless drivers teach. Going to Chippendales is not reckless, in the opinion of many here. Now what?

The Superintendent is not and he started this mess.
Plus Tennessee law makes integrity and acts in line with the greater political and cultural environment a mandatory criteria for evaluating teachers. My guess is that most public school systems make morality and integrity a criteria.
My guess is that they wouldn't be that protected. They could certainly be reprimanded.

You said it yourself. It's up to the community to decide.

Do you really want to get into a community standards battle on which of firearms or male strippers would make teachers morally reprehensible?

My guess is that most public school systems make morality and integrity a criteria. Absolutely they do. Nowhere does it say that going to Chippendales is a no-no. The "rules" are very vague and open to interpretation.
IF you were saying that going to Chippendales leads to bad classroom behavior, proven by articles A, B, and C, I could agree with you.
But your argument is that YOU don't approve. That isn't good enough.

"Nice morals ya got there. The highest moral plane is therefore, don't get caught."
No, they are both immoral, but I can only protect my kids from what I know about. The highest moral plane is to love God and to love others.
If you do that and do it well, you would think of the kids and the example you set and you wouldn't go to Chippendales and you certainly wouldn't try to get school teachers to go. And you would fire teachers that don't set a good example for kids. Not because you condemn the teacher but because their acts have made them unfit to teach kids.

No, they are both immoral, but I can only protect my kids from what I know about. Certainly true. But you might want to be really careful about deciding who is setting a good example. I emphasize to my children that God sees all things. They may avoid my catching them engaging in bad behavior, but God always catches them.
Gosh, all that and Hustler too! Here I was thinking I was a moral sewer...

Difference. In the FR family you are the batty aunt with the bee in her bonnet about Moral Uplift or Theosophy or whatnot.
Go into the public arena and you are going to be going against Oprah, who will convince everybody you are the dangerous person dissing God.

I never thought you were a moral sewer.
Teaching Kindergarden is a high calling. I do hope you give some thought to (which you probably have already) being the BEST influence you can be instead of just being an acceptable or not bad influence.

"The women who attended the show said they enjoyed it."The man used his own money, the women went of their own accord...they had a good time.
The idiot complaining is bad, the idiots on this thread acting holier than thou are just as bad.
Maybe even worse.

"...the point is that it was wholly inappropriate for women involved in the education of children to be seen at such an establishment..."There were no children there!
These are not nuns, they are adult Americans.
They are as free to attend as they were not to attend.

In my opinion. Thank you. I judge that you are unfit to teach children because you are likely to interfere with the parent/child relationship by trying to impose your religious values on their children.
See how that works?
