I'm afraid she didn't need fraud to win. Her opponent, Rick Lazio, was so pathetically outclassed that the dead didn't need to come back to life to elect her.
In the entire 19th century, only two Vice Presidents were re-elected: George Clinton (Jefferson's second term and Madison's first) and Daniel Tompkins (Monroe's two terms); Clinton died in office and Tompkins shortly after leaving office.
We can only hope but I think Vilsack's chances just took a big nosedive this morning. The Iowa Supreme Court (for the second time) found in favor of the Republicans in the Iowa Legisature (7-0) in a lawsuit against Vilsack. Vilsack, being a typical Democrat, considers himself above the law. He vetoed parts of a bill earlier this year. His veto was ruled unconsitutional.
