Yeah, don't dump ole Hickory. I'd say displace either Grant or Cleveland. In addition, dump FDR and put Ronnie there too - there's nothing that says you can't have him both on a bill and coin!

I'm actually surprised by the Old Hickory fan club here. I guess a lot of conservative history buffs out there. Anyway, Grant's riper for the pickin' anyway. When it comes to that era, LINCOLN is the man, not Grant.

I heard for the first time today of the theory that Hamilton was part Black and if he was replaced on the 10 by Reagan, it would upset the Blacks.
To: Huck
Besides Reagan of course, he's one of my faves. Honorable mention as well to McKinley.

How postmodernist of you. Using that logic, the opinions of authors of books or of the Constitution are moot. Only our current beliefs have relevence.

Grant was a great general but a terrible president. It was thanks to the rampant corruption of his cronies that every president who followed him until Benjamin Harrison spent most of their time just trying to clean up the mess he made.
Personally, I think the best win-win is to move Hamilton to the $50 bill and put Reagan on the $10.

Dump Old Hickory or US Grant. Grant's probably the best choice actually.
Yes, Grant is more likely than Jackson considering the Senate majority leader is a Tennessean

Best suggestion I've seen yet. Put Reagan on the Gold Eagle

I agree. Keep Hamilton.
We can start doing like Latin American nations...two on same bill...lol
I'm suprised you'd opt to boot Grant...hmmm

"Currency should be reserved for Presidents, not incidental historical figures"
I almost agree with that. I think Benjamin Franklin is a special case

The best tribute to Reagan would be to put his visage on a gold coin, not this fiat crap.
Oops, that's the one I meant to reply to

A $100 gold coin would be too small. A $500 gold piece would be more appropriate.
