From the article:
"The wind farms, some of which could cover an area the size of Nottingham, are seen as the key to meeting the aim of having 10% of Britain’s energy needs met from renewable sources by 2010."

The concept of "renewable sources" is nothing but smoke blowing...you know where. All energy sources need new components as equipment wears out, including solar photoelectric cells and windmills. Are these components "renewable"?
Recycling actually costs more than primary production,in time, money AND energy.
So in the name of "Conservation",we are encouraged to use more resources, faster than ever.
Sheeesh!

I wish the story would get out about Kerry and Kennedy's steadfast opposition to the proposed Cape Cod wind farm. as of late things have been quiet because I am sure Kerry needs to keep it quiet that he opposes green projects

These wind mill/turbines probably kill more birds than the ones in the deserts of California, however, the birds are washed away and be rated as nature friendly. When the greens have nothing else to bitch about, they will probably say something about birs mysteriously dissappearing....Now if we could get greens to climb on these towers and fall into the water, perhaps they would wash away without a trace too? We could only wish to be so lucky.
