Some people are very clever at making Scripture back up any stance they want.
LOL!
See? Told you it could be worse!
There is not equality between men and women on any physical front. There are only exceptions, which prove the rule. Exceptio probat regulam de rebus non exceptio.
Who said anything about physical equality. I'm talking about constitutional equal protection under the law.
I predict entire units of Private Benjamins. Woe to that poor boot camp commander who tries to turn a gaggle of makeup wearing primadonnas into warriors. We may as well surrender now.
On another note, it is not only our leaders who have changed their attitudes about women. Disrespect for women pervades society. While part of this is due to feminist activists, men must take responsibility for their part too. No offense to men reading this post, but there are few good ones left. I've met more men who lied, cheated, treated me like dirt, stole from me, demanded that I and other women earn a certain amount of money to support them or contribute "equally", of course while expecting the house to be clean and food to be cooked. Then there are those who want to hire people to do the latter so the wife can work 60 hours a week to fulfill some guy's visions of financial success. I can't tell you how many men have inquired about my income as a nurse, while ZERO women have ever asked. It is no surprise men think women in combat is a great idea. It is the next logical step.
The Middle Easterners will be thrilled. Just think, entire units of females will be captured and treated as harems. It doesn't get any easier.
I agree with you.
Men get royally screwed under our laws.
I'm not a male-basher. Never have been, never will be.
I feel sorry for most guys these days, especially if they are white and over 40.
This is the first I've heard of this bill. How frightening.
Yes, I understand, but when the exercise of that constitutional equal protection under the law leads to a de facto end of women being forced into physical equality to men, it is null and void by commonsense, wouldn't you think?
The best thing women can do is produce more men to keep us all safe and secure. There is no man that can do that. When you kill a man, you kill just that man; when you kill a woman, you kill all her babies.
For the money hassle and heartache of one women propped up to do battle
at least ten able bodied men could stand in 'her' stead.....
The affirmative action...femanazi agenda is disrputive, a complete waste of taxpayer dollars and puts other male soldiers at risk having to prop up females in combat....
Life was tough enough in an Inf platoon in Vietnam..having to deal with females in the unit
would have been a complete disaster
imo
Anybody who asks you how much salary you make is simply crass.
I've had crass, vulgar women ask ME that question, BTW.
Glad you've ben spared that.
Tell your daughter that I said, "Thank you for your service!"
And thank YOU , Dandelion, for supporting out troops!
Cute name, btw. I smile everytime I see you post!
Verse 9:
9 And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the LORD shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.
Barak was dishonored because he wouldn't go to battle unless Deborah came with him. So maybe women in combat isn't an abomination, but it's certainly a dishonor.
Go and Blame the PC Crowd. Hillary types are the ones who want the females in the front lines and expect to fight at the same level as males. It's been a total failure and they have no right to blame Rummy. He has to work with what the previous Administration gave him. The PC Crowd are trying to feminize the military. In their passive-aggressive way they are trying to undermine the US and our armed forces to become ineffective as a fighting force. That's their plan. They don't want us to win but to lose miserably. Then the enemy will take the higher ground. Women should be put back in support roles only.
Perhaps it would be more like entire units of women like Xena, Warrior Princess. It would really mess with Arabs' minds if they suffered battle losses to our female combat units. Just as in WWII the Germans were horrified to suffer battle losses to African-American units. <grin>
But seriously, I have real trouble with the idea of the draft only affecting men, if we did someday need another draft. There are many non-combat roles that women already serve.
That some conservatives approve of women in combat, not to mention the draft itself, is just another indication of our failing society.
And that some will use extremist feminism to defend such a view is detestable.
Send your own daughters to this war, you multiloquent, myopic malcontents, if there is any sincerity behind those forked tongues.
HR163 is literally on the floor of the House. S89 wasn't even touched by the Senate. When the draft comes up at my high school...I have to show them the web site so they can cool their heels. The 3 Dems who are sponsoring this bill are trying to scare the young people.

As a Xena fan the thought makes me smile but I'm afraid the reality of that happening is slim to none. More than likely we'd have units of Jessica Lynches with similiar outcomes. She was in a non-combat role :- /
As a young nurse I would have entertained the idea of helping in that role, however physically, I've never been cut out for the military. I wouldn't survive boot camp.
Yes but when we talk about the draft we are talking about the armed services not just combat. So you draft women but make them all typists, I don't care. You wouldn't make a blind man the sharpshooter. If some woman is 6'4" 240 lbs and they want to be in combat, go for it. But let's not treat our men as disposable just because they are men.
Women don't get pregnant alone. If women are going to be punished for conceiving, then the men who was part of that conception is equally to blame.
The military should set out its rules clearly. If those rules prohibit procreation while on a ship, then BOTH parties to procreation should be sanctioned.
Ditto for contraception. If women are temporarily sterilized, then men should be too.
It takes two to tango.
