Of course that mosque was constructed on the site of a former Catholic church...

They only left Israel a wall to wail on. I guess the crusades were before 24 hour cable.

I'm sure the pope wouldn't mind giving back all those stolen sites, right? I don't think so.

["'Haven't the Jews and the Christians achieved their progress by means of toughness and repression? We have a strategy drawn up for the destruction of Anglo-Saxon civilization and for the uprooting of the Americans and the English. "Our missiles are now ready to strike at their civilization, and as soon as the instructions arrive from leader ['Ali Khamenei], we will launch our missiles at their cities and installations..."]

Er, Mr. Hali-whackjob Ali-ba-iml-kashmibilbish or whatever you name is, has it ocurred to you that the United States of America alone could deliver over 4,000 nuclear warheads to your pissant country, without seriously depleting our stockpile, while destroying all life in your land more advanced than microbes? get a grip already.

They declared war on us a decade ago. We need to clue ourselves in. They mean war. We had better start responding in kind.

Democrats (and many Republicans too): "Sorry, but we are presently too busy worrying about offending them to take any positive action. For goodness sake, we made them wear women's underwear! Please call back after the next major atack on our soil kills at least 50,000 innocent men, women, and children. This should occur within 5-10 years."

The cold war was 'The Cold War.' This is World War III.

Was there not a conflict? Did we not mobilize massive resources? Was there not a resolution? Did we not win? IMO, semantics aside, I couldn't disagree with you more. The Cold War was every bit a war, albeit not a firing war, but it was a war alright, and we won.

Set 1SQ, do a ripple launch on the mullahs, and fifteen minutes later its Miller time.

But historically it will not be known as World War III.

It is and always shall be 'the Cold War.'

When all Cold War MIA's are recovered, as well as the remains of the KIA's, I guess history may have a different take on the subject.

It definitely wasnt a 50 year long series of cat and mouse games. People died.

We will have to deal with these people sooner or later...

Yes. Unfortunately, it seems clear that we will never deal with them in convincing, punishing fashion until after they've managed to slaughter gosh knows how many Americans. As amazing as it is, given the lessons of history that our leaders surely have access to, those leaders seem to have become convinced that technology has somehow changed human nature. Not so.

Didn't say that.

People died.

No doubt.

This of course remains to be seen. It all depends on one's timeframe reference. For example, how can you possibly know what "always shall be". Give me a break. OK. We can certainly disagree about what the cold war is called today by most historians. However, IMO, the cold war will likely be renamed in the future as WWIII by future historians. This is what I (and perhaps others on this forum) think.

And that is my point of disagreement.

At first I thought that sending these jihadist imbeciles back to the seventh century would be enough. Now i think they must be sent back to the Azoic Era.

They spew Nazi hate rhetoric and Kerry says he won't be 'stubborn'! If he wins, we'll have countless political cartoons of Kerry portrayed as Neville Chamberlain. This will be small comfort for the families of hundreds of thousands of American dead. Kerry and the RATS think they'll take over the house and senate, too, and so will be hustled to safety when WMD's land here. I hope they enjoy a living in a nuclear wasteland while their hair falls out.
