The time stamp looks like April 6 A10:00 to me. But the docket reports and everything else says it was filed on the 5th...Maybe my eyes are getting tired.
Isn't that the dismissal?
I was wondering if when they filed it it was already the 6th in Iraq, so they couldn't be linked.
I noticed it the same time you did, but was off on another thread.
Read the other NPR stamp more closely. It's barely legible, but I think it says
"U.S. Department of Justice
U.S. Attorney E.D. of Pa.
2004 April 6 A 10:00"
So NPR likely received it from the U.S. Attorney's Office or someone who received it from the U.S. Attorney's Office.
There are two footers on the bottom. Both say "4/5/2004 4:27PM". So it was probably last saved by Michael Berg's counsel at 4:27PM Eastern time on April 5 and faxed to the U.S. Attorney's office (the quality is awful; it might have been faxed to NPR as well).
I wouldn't make too much of this. It's possible Berg's attorneys called the U.S. Attorney's office as a courtesy before the papers were actually served. Michael Berg was definitely talking to the administration before then.
The dismissal is on the first two pages with no time stamp. The petition definitely has the time stamp.
Oh, I'm sorry; I didn't realize it was both of them; my eyes have squinted at so many stories and graphics today, I can't see straight!
I misspoke. It's both. The habeas petition starts on page 3.
Good catch on the footers. That clears it up.
I know what you mean. This old squinter's packing it in for tonight. Nite all.
>> A little FYI. I didn't make up the name "restricted". <<
Sorry, RGS. I didn't mean to imply you made it up. I wanted to highlight the word _restricted_ in some way and I don't know squat about HTML codes. No reflection on what you said.
;~)
>> If any video footage comes out, it will be altered. I don't think that Moore interviewed Nick Berg. <<
The news accounts and I believe Salon said a *third party* outed Moore on this. I think Moore does have real footage of an interview with Nick Berg (if Moore hasn't altered it after the beheading). I think his F911 project was completed without use of that footage because it was too risky from the get go to use it.
I don't think Moore planned to have this info come out after the beheading but someone doesn't like him (imagine that) and told on him. Now Moore is busy doing damage control.
The biggest problem in analyzing anything Moore does is that he is one of the biggest liars on earth.
I missed your post. I'm starting to think there is video footage myself. At first I figured that Michael Moore was lying as usual. I've learned the hard way that with some people, you can't put anything past them. Nothing is too low. Michael Moore is one of those people.
The more I read about this whole situation, the more suspicious I get. It was bad enough before, but now MM is involved. I'll keep some of my wilder theories to myself.
