Just thought I would throw this out there from someone that I personally know.

You have a lot of nerve to be posting something about a beheaded American. What, no news about a new mass murderer having his feelings hurt in Iraq?

Maybe he was working for the good guys.

I think there's more to this story than we'll ever know. FWIW, if he was for the bad guys we would have known that. I suspect he was doing something for the government. That's my tinfoil suggestion for the night.

Thanks. Does your friend know if Nick Berg considered himself an asset of the US or Israel?
To: abner
He says that as far as he knew, he was not uncomfortable speaking the language. From what I've heard, Arabic is pretty tough to learn. Did he say how he learned the language? One surely would not feel comfortable unless he had plenty of opportunity to practice it with other Arabic speakers.

My friend thinks he was really just a regular guy that loved the US. I think he is still somewhat in shock.

Probably in college. Arabic is a fast growing language to learn in collegiate studies.
To: abner
Ashcroft seemed pretty convinced that Berg was no bad guy.

My friend worked for Nick in a contractor capacity. He never asked him about his Arabic that I know of.

I don't think that was really Nick Berg in the video. I believe that Nick and Tim (Tim McVeigh bthat is) are sitting in some bar in Tahiti sipping fancy girl drinks that have umbrellas sticking out of them and talking about the good ole' days.
