Please explain how these "atrocities" are in any way worse than what is done during that most vicious of rituals, fraternity hell week.Didn't Kerry do worse in the Viet Nam war?

"So, Mr, Mrs, (and whatever I missed) World, excuse me if I can't show the "universal revulsion" the world socialists, tyrants, terrorists and leftists show now, but seem to forget about when the atrocities happen to Americans or Isrealies."
You're not in the minority here. I'm on board completely. Fix it and move on. This isn't a mountain. It's a molehill.

"30 years ago, Richard Nixon (who, although he may NOT have been personally responsible for the conduct of his surrogates) rsigned rather than bring dishonor to his office."
I'll agree with that, but don't send amateurs to do a professional's job. It's that simple.

I'm not excusing what those troops did at the prison but the Arab world is only outraged when their swarthy brothers are undergoing what weekly occurs at Frat parties across this great nation. And the rest of the world is just as hypocritical. Some of it was on the level of Frat Party pranks but there were some incidents that appear to be torture and rape and Freepers should be angry with that.
But, I agree there is a lot of biased rage in the world, from many Arabs, from many global socialists and from Democrats here in the U.S.
Where's the world outrage with what happened to this family?
Damn, it's already forgotten.
To: Long Cut
I just spent 30 minutes reading the entire report. There is NO excuse for what happened. I withdraw all objections.

It seems the MI is behind this. Could you provide a link. I did not see that in the DOD report released.

Karpinski's life has, shall we say, come to a fork in the road, big time Did you know any of the details surrounding the bronze star she won in Gulf War 1?

To: MEG33
That report was devastating about her "command". Check out this puff piece. It warrants a "barf alert".
To: Barlowmaker
Nope. But I'm willing to bet good money that it was what we call in the Navy a "geedunk" medal...that is, one given less for any real accomplishment than for "show".

There is a certain female General trolling the TV for support. She could not run a day camp. Her entire command team appear to be idiots with her leading the way.

"Fix it and move on. This isn't a mountain. It's a molehill." Read the report linked in post #117. Sadly, it IS a mountain. That whole command was disfunctional. Some of those "soldiers" crossed the line into sexual torture; in fact, that seems to be a running theme.
My mind boggles when I think about what they might've done in their civilian lives.

I was going to say that the end of hell week, you get to be the pee-er rather than the pee-ee, but I guess that is a dubious advantage.

# 60,he's read what is in #117 ,(short list of abuse on down the thread from there).and is on active duty.I've read enough of 117 to understand why our military is outraged, angry at the perps and their commander and think they may be "Kerryed" by association. That must not happen..

They were an absolute disgrace, both as human beings and as Officers. They have shamed one of the most time-honored and respected classes of the American Military with their incompetence and sleaze.
Hell, one of her "captains" was taking nude pictures of the female Soldiers under his command without their knowledge! A Leiutenent Colonel was so inept that he was specifically cited for incompetence and failing to do even the most basic of jobs! The Command Seargeant Major was fraternizing with the junior Soldiers. The list went on so long I couldn't believe that they ever attained that rank in the first place.
