It is probably a pipeline or communications cable that was cut when the asteroid hit. ;-)

Or a surface to space missile launcher tube, that was hit when the fools stood out in the open with it.

No, men are from Mars. Kerry's flip flops would be found on Venus. There's no doubt in my mind that he's from Uranus.

Hmmm, maybe these are not impact craters at all, maybe they are actually BOMB craters, relics of a Martian World War that destroyed the once lush planet and all its inhabitants (except for the ones that made it to Earth of course).

I think somebody's a little upset he missed the ship.

Take a look at the strange curved cylindrical object just above center frame and along the far left side While this thing does look like a tree branch or pipe, it's just a big solid rock. What appears to be a gap or space below the curved "pipe" is in fact just more rock. The shade/color of the rock matches the surrounding terrain to make it LOOK like there is a space under it, but it is in fact all rock. What appears to be the pipe is a darker area along the top of the rock.

You are correct, I took another look from a different angle by using the large panoramic image first published. It appears to be a layered rock tilted up to a vertical position. It is an illusion caused by shadows and same color as you mentioned. Thanks for taking look!
