Speaking of "cut and run" politics ...
"I actually voted for the $87 billion, before I voted against it".

Being a muddled "gray" is what got us into this pickle in the first place.
The sandmaggots
themselves have as much as said so numerous times in captures memos and communications. Being in the middle of the road gets you run over.
Some problems are black and white. Confronting pure savage primitive and uncompromising evil is one of them. What a marroon!

Tiny men... senile men... cannot even pretend to grasp the simplest but most noble ideals of true leaders:
"Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty.
This much we pledgeand more."

President's Message to the Iraqi People April 10, 2003 Pres. Bush: The goals of our coalition are clear and limited. We will end a brutal regime, whose aggression and weapons of mass destruction make it a unique threat to the world. Coalition forces will help maintain law and order, so that Iraqis can live in security. We will respect your great religious traditions, whose principles of equality and compassion are essential to Iraqs future. We will help you build a peaceful and representative government that protects the rights of all citizens. And then our military forces will leave. Iraq will go forward as a unified, independent and sovereign nation that has regained a respected place in the world.

I just don't know what the Democrats hope to gain by this. This is just not the Vietnam era. Sure, the troops in Iraq are having a hard time of it, sure things are difficult. Unlike Vietnam, the armed forces today are all volunteer. Yes, someone who volunteered may not have anticipated they would see combat, but nonetheless, they were told it was a possibility and they did volunteer. Nothing can change that fact. Thus, when Kennedy, Levin, et. al. take to the Senate floor to decry Iraq as Vietnam, they are only preaching to the choir of leftist kooks. There is not going to be outrage by the American public in general as there was when the armed forces were conscripted.

PLAYING POLITICS WITH IRAQ -- (Senate - April 29, 2004)
[Page: S4671] GPO's PDF
---
Mr. STEVENS. Mr. President, as President pro tempore and presiding over the Senate, I have found the overheated rhetoric on Iraq over the last few days at best disappointing and at worst misleading, harshly partisan, and motivated by election year politics. I have simply had enough of this. I have come to the floor to ask my Senate colleagues to restore the level of debate that this institution demands. I urge the Senate to not play politics with Iraq.
Give me a sec. I'm going to make a thread of this, Stevens starts clubbing the dems w/ their own owrds..

And this is the reason why the Terrorists love Democrats
I just want to know why they hate our country so much they are willingly distorting the truth and saying bold face lies??
The Dem Leaders would have to being living under a rock not to realize this kind of talk encourages the terrorists
Is regaining power that important to put the lives of our military and the lives of American citizens in danger like they are?

For example, saying ``you are either with us or against us'' is a black and white choice--the stark choice the President laid down to allies. Let's see. The people in the WTC on 9-11 are either alive or dead. Yup. That's pretty black and white.
I'm from Michigan. Levin makes me puke.

There's enough actual things to hate liberals over than to make things up. He's saying that Bush has tried to box Democrats in by saying that you are either for Bush's way or you are for cutting and running. He's not advocating cutting and running. It's the same as with "you're either for us or against us." Bush isn't advocating that people and nations be against us. He's offering what he thinks are the only two options. You can disagree that there are only two options regarding Iraq or disagree that Bush thinks there are only two options, but Levin isn't saying Bush has ever advocated cutting and running.
