Welcome aboard, sir. I was a registered Independent until '02, when I finally admitted to myself that it would be a cold day in hell before I'd ever vote for a Democrat to so much as lick the mud off my boots.
Weeeee.... shall overrrcoooooooooome....

Thanks again for the welcome.
When I was in third grade President Kennedy inspired me to not ask what my country could do for me - but what could I do for my country.
I volunteered for duty in the Marine Corps in 1970 and always tried to be a socially responsible American.
Believe me when I say that this had to be one of the hardest decisions I ever made -- it is akin to being a lifelong Denver Bronco fan and deciding to cheer for the Dallas Cowboys --- yuck. ;)
It was not so much what the GOP had to offer since I still find a lot of fault with their lack of conviction in the House and Senate. It seemed to me when Clinton had all them FBI files is about when the GOp lost their cajones.
The Democratic party just went to far to the left for me to follow anymore. About a week ago a gentleman came to my front door saying that he was a Democrat and running against Barbara Cubin the GOP Congressman here in Wyoming. I read the handout flyer he gave me and completely lost all faith in the party when I read how he wanted to repeal the tax cuts for the wealthy!!!!!!
That plus the democrats using body counts in the war on terror to make political hay was all I could stomach.
