Well, as long as I am entertaining..

I'm sure Andrea Mankoski is a fine person, she seems nice on her site. I had a girlfriend that didn't have endometriosis like Andrea, but she did have severe fibromyalgia which I've seen a few sites quoting Andrea's scale.

I am no stranger to pain. Nor to drug problems with people I've cared for.

I'm kinda disturbed that you think this is all a joke. To me it's quite serious.

You don't even know what I'm advocating.

All I've said is I want effective medication without any high involved. Why is this some heresy to the pro drug people?

"This helped calm them psycholically and countered the fear and anxiety..which was an important part of the relief and healing process."

I think this is an important point you made. This "high" that is felt by narcotic painkillers I believe (and have read) assists the body in the healing process by alleviating anxiety, depression, and other negative emotions that often goes with the pain which facilitates physical healing.

I think that narcotics are a little too controlled, and could actually be dispensed to treat depression as well as pain as long as they are not abused. They help elevate someone's mood, and can make them more responsive to other forms of treatment, and in moderation are less dangerous than alchohol. There is also a growing body of evidence that SSRI's actually induce mental illness in the long term, and are actually quite dangerous.

If someone could take an opiate tablet once in awhile to deal with the negative emotions they are faced with I think they would be less apt to end up in a drunken stupor at the local bar, and a deadly collision on the highway at the end of the night.

Everyone's opinion is clouded by ego and blinkers. So what? That's saying nothing. While we're at it, here's another good quote:

Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.

That's why I prefer ridiculing fools. I learned a long time ago when to bother debating someone and when to merely amuse myself at their expense.. =)

They are terrible for depression since they have a tolerance and cause a crash when you can't increase dosage.

You don't even know what I'm advocating.

Sure I do. You just told me. Or was that another falsehood?

You also advocated murdering the terminally ill in an earlier comment.

Switching topics, if I may.

Do you think the Second Amendment applies to all levels of government?

IOW, are State or municipal governments allowed to ban gun ownership according to your view of the Second Amendment?

I'm so sorry to hear of your pain and problems!

If you notice,it's mostly guys, who are pro-dopers.I'd really like them to have 9 hours of back labour and give birth.LOL

BTW,I know no mother, back labour or the regular kind, who wasn't a drug addict, who thought that it was her "RIGHT",to get high during or after labour and giving birth.

The pro-dopers think that a hangnail is reason enough to get stoned.

I read the article, which started this thread, and think it's a great idea, that drug manufacturers are doing whatever It takes to keep the drug abusers away from getting a "high" from meds, meant for those who REALLY need.

175 was sarcasm, thought I made that clear.

The other one? Well, people shouldn't suffer and if they're in the last few days, I'm not sure the benefit of making them suffer. No amount of drugs can help at that point.

What does the 2nd have to do with drugs?

Drugs aren't arms that I can tell.

the pro dopers are loud. Our types tend to not get on these threads.

They get an inflated ego from it.

I am quite certain that more people agree with me that the terminally ill should not be murdered in order to prevent them from getting high. ;)

Not that my personal views are determined by majority vote, in any case. I'm sorry if yours are.

You haven't a clue;not a single one.

I've read this thread.I've read the article.I know exactly what you've posted on this thread and I've had the chance to see you on other threads. So here are a few well chosen words from the inimitable William S.Gilbert..."Oh folly, folly, folly................" :-)

Their use should be controlled which would alleviate the tolerance issue, and the narcotic painkillers that I used to take as directed for my back pain such as hydrocodone never caused a "crash".

Now you're going to go on that.. Actually, I'm not sure how to deal with it, my knee-jerk reaction is to end their suffering faster without being in a drug haze.

Or let them just go. On that point, the last few days of a painful illness, it is a tough call.

I have personally known a vicodin addict that did crash without it.

It's potentially disasterous.

My views are based on knowledge...factual,historical knowledge, experience, and morality;NOT on anyone else's views/opinions/propaganda/the "majority".
