Sadr City is a slum. It was previously known as Saddam City.
Only a thug could be a leader there.He hasn't caused much trouble before, and when he did he quickly got back in line.
Sadr only has a few hundred loyal fighters, and a few thousand supporters in all.

I think his real problem is that his masters in Iran are casting him aside for being useless.

I also find it very, very hard to believe that anyone was shot and killed "innocently in their sleep" in the middle of a major battle involving automatic weapons and helicopter gunships.
