But Ijaz doesn't claim to be a journalist. And he doesn't claim to eyewitness accounts.
Aren't all of the talking heads on the idiot box speculating, anyway?

"But Ijaz doesn't claim to be a journalist."
No he doesn't. But, he sure is presented as an expert and some one in the know of current events in the region. If his track record for accuracy is less than 20% - his talking points should be presented with a warning label.

There is no FOX affiliate in the mountains of Afghanistan. There are no reporters on the scene. All of the information is being relayed second and third hand.
IF we didn't have this second and third hand information, we would ONLY know what the DOD said (tight lipped) and what Musharraff said (ambiguous).
That leaves us to speculate, even more.
I sometimes think these Ijaz threads are actually BASH IJAZ threads. Kind of like going after Moby.

I'm listening to Blues Clues, now. Missing all the fun!
In Joe's "Handy, Dandy Notebook", I don't think he has any clues to help target al Zawahiri.

Speculation can be sooo much fun. But, it can also be dangerous - remember Orson Welles' "War of the Worlds" broadcast - people actually died.
Cliche warning - patience is a virtue.

Gimmee a break.
When the Murrah Building was bombed, did you truly believe the initial reports that it was the work of Conservative Talk Radio Extremists? Probably not, because you were intelligent enough to watch and wait.
You need to take ALL news in with a jaundiced eye, even from FOX and the MahaRushdie.
Intial reports always change.

You got it.
"You need to take ALL news in with a jaundiced eye, even from FOX and the MahaRushdie."
Not to mention Drudge. And I do view all news with a healthy dose of caution & cynicism.

Not me, I still have fantasies of one soldier from each branch of our military walking out of a raging dessert sandstorm while one is holding osmma's decapitated head in the air, dangling from its lice infested beard, while Toby is singing the "Boot up your ass" part of the my favorite, feel good, let's kick their asses song.
It's a scene I would give my first (maybe second) born son to see.

"LOL. I wonder how many people are going to know what that means? "
Around my house, relief was my then-5-year-old telling me she didn't want any more Dora stuff, as that was for babies. Praise be to all the Gods from Allah to Zeus, with heavy emphasis on Jehovah!
