Why we are letting the Pakis run this operation is beyond me. The Pakis have a history of allowing the enemy to escape.

Seriously, according to John Loftus, the whole operation was a hoax designed to grandstand during Powell's visit. Heard that last night on John Alexander's show. Thoughts?

Interesting.
I keep wondering if it's a diversion. Perhaps the actual place to look is Iran?

The thought had crossed my mind before I heard Loftus' report. Musharaff is walking a fine line between the anti-Taliban U.S. and the pro-Taliban elements of his own secret service. To me, if it is a hoax, it could just as easily be a disinformation campaign directed at the pro-Taliban elements (to throw them off) as grandstanding for the U.S.
Personally, I'm holding off judgment about the operation until the target has been captured -- dead or alive -- or the operation is called off. Meanwhile, color me skeptical, especially in light of the "negotiating" report circulating this morning that we've seen end before with an "oops, he got away" time and time again.

Hogwash...check the bank accounts.....this deal is being run by "merchants" on both sides of the fence.

Are you military, private business or journalist? Just curious.
Are you hearing the explosions right now?
