This is a weird story. As others have pointed out, both us and the Pakis have air assets in the area that could turn a "bulletproof" LandCruiser into scrap metal.

Improbable, for too many reasons to catalogue.

A BULLETPROOF LandCruiser at high speed bursting out of a tribal compound Don't the Paki's have bazookas? Sheesh. How about helicopters? We should send a few California news-copters over so they can get these thugs.

Send the Los Angeles TV helicopter news corp over there. They are experts at tracking cars trying to evade capture.

We have bulletproof land cruisers here in Baghdad, but they are junk. If we follow long enough, it will break down lol.
To: Bahbah
Or, how about a Daisy Cutter, right down their bloody throats.

Where does it say it was about an event on Tuesday? Further, the longer it goes on the more I think the Pakistani's didn't get him. But the fact is he can't get very far.

ALERT: This story is about the escape last TUESDAY....AZ is still under fire and possibly dead.
To: The Wizard
Pak News agency Dawn is reporting that the Land Cruiser was found abandoned after running into a wall (ambush?) and it's believed Zawahiri may be injured. They are working on the assumption he's hiding in the area. Hopefully the noose is getting really tight.

Seriously, according to John Loftus, the whole operation was a hoax designed to grandstand during Powell's visit. It started well before he got there, and continues after he left.

According to our friend
John Loftus
last night
on WABC radio New York
the whole operation was a hoax
mounted by Pakistan
to impress Coling Powell
who had just visited Pakistan
with a big offer of aid
and cash.

I cannot see how anything could run at high speed in that country unless it is off a cliff.

And in any case, it's unlikely our planners have one scintilla of confidence in the Paks to capture AQ leaders.
That would not be a factor in the current strategy.
Stirring up a hornet's nest would be.

To: treeclimber
