socialists win next phase of the terrorist game plan: Spain's IBEX 35 dropped 3.3 percent after the socialists posted an upset victory on the ruling conservative party on the heels of the Madrid terror attacks killing 200 people.

Investigations are continuing into who was behind the bombings.
Until the transfer of power. The new government has no interest in finding out who was behind the bombings. Whoever it was, the new government owes them a big debt of gratitude. Which it will promptly repay by promptly releasing anyone taken into custody by the old government.
When do the rats take over?

Spain still hasn't gotten over the Armada and 1898, I see.
Once a quitter, always a quitter.
And they did so well against ignorant, backwards savages, too!

If this was al Qaeda that attacked the trains then they have won their first victory. Without even a shot being fired from Spain. Is this a view of things to come? al Qaeda now has been taught terror works.

Our correspondent says the late swing to the Socialists raises one disturbing thought - if al-Qaeda was responsible for Thursday's attacks, it appears to have had significant influence in changing the government of a leading Western democracy. Actually, what this means is that any terrorist that wants to change the government just needs to pull a bombing like this within days of an election. It really doesn't matter who was responsible - it still got the desired result.
I wonder if the DemocRATs here in the US would stoop low enough to arrange a bombing or other sort of "terrorist" event here just before our election in December to try outs GW? After all, the example has been set and prooven to work. Kerry has already indicated (unintentionally) that he will be soft on terrorists. What's to stop this from happening here?

The general American population doesn't grasp what just took place in Spain. The Spaniards just gave Al Qaeda the blueprint for regime change in Britain, Poland, Australia, Italy, the United States...

Spain was and always be an isolationist. Except now, they are going to share their country with the terrorist who want Iberia back.

Spain's Socialist Party prime minister-elect has confirmed his intention to pull Spanish troops out of Iraq. Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero said: "The war in Iraq was a disaster, the occupation of Iraq is a disaster."~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our enemies can claim a victory on 311.
The press has blood on its hands.
The Socialist Party is not concerned with freedom, justice, human rights, or truth.
Pray for our troops.
God bless America.

The terrorists win. I see AQ attacking the US shortly before our election in November, hoping for a similar result. They'll be unpleasantly surprised, since American's NEVER vote Democrat when they feel threatened.
To: kattracks
This comes as absolutely no surprise.
The throngs in the streets demonstrating following the bombings were not shouting defiance at al-Qaeda. Rather, they were hurling abuse at the government for having placed the country in the front line in the fight on terrorism.
A sad but predictable response from a country which has abandoned its Christian roots and has a birth rate which is absolutely miniscule. All indicative of a country which has embraced the socialist secular god of birth control and paradise in the here and now.

While Mr Zapatero said his first priority was to tackle terrorism "in all its forms", he is thought likely to do it in a very different way than the outgoing government.<<..Yup! and his first priority is to succumb to it!...Understanding that, all the terrorist have to do is threaten to get what they want!...Seems simple enough to me.....

His statement is clearly being taken out of context. He says he will withdraw his troops if the UN does not get involved on June 30th. when the transfer is to take place.
At this point the US is committed to that date, but I suspect double dirty dealing by the UN to back off to harm the US.

Nothing like capitulating to world terrorism to send that "tough" message that will make them leave you alone. Now they know they've got Spain by the cajones.
Would they have killed no one in their drive to regain Andalusia, mr new prime minister?
Don't kid yourself.

While Mr Zapatero said his first priority was to tackle terrorism "in all its forms", he is thought likely to do it in a very different way than the outgoing government. This garbage again. The left has no plan, in fact, absolutely no idea on how to combat terrorism, and the slightest prodding reveals this easily.
Complete frauds.
