By the way, LBJ was the worst president in history, going away. He believed Vietman was unwinnable, and let US troops go to their deaths nevertheless by the tens of thousands in a limp wristed effort,I'll agree with that. Lots of blood on those hands.

FDR led us into World War II. Germany never attacked us: Japan did. From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost, an average of 112,500 per year. (they were allies. We had to fight both.)
Truman finished that war and started one in Korea. North Korea never attacked us. From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost, an average of 18,333 per year. (that was an immoral war. But how does that justify another one?)
John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam conflict in 1962. Vietnam never attacked us. Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire. From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost, an average of 5800 per year. (true. and Johnson did it under a fake attack against the US, just like Bush Jr. and Iran)
Clinton went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent. Bosnia never attacked us. (he stopped a genocide and it WAS with a UN peacekeeping force. Clueless writer.) He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama has attacked us on multiple occasions. (we arent in the business of murder no matter what he wants to say.)
In the two years since terrorists attacked us, President Bush has liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, (have you seen the headlines lately? The Taliban is making a huge comeback) crippled Al-Qaida (true, but they did bomb London and Madrid), put nuclear inspectors in Lybia, Iran and North Korea (I believe that was the UN, which was alos the UN that said Iraq had no weapons. You cant have it both ways) without firing a shot and captured a terrorist who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people. We lost 600 soldiers,(thats over 2000 now with no end is sight. But why lose any at all? He had to lie to get us into war. How is that justified?) an average of 300 a year. Bush did all this abroad while not allowing another terrorist attack at home.

tanyakristine, wow, like that's nice fence straddling. Like, is that like your position inside the parantheses (or is it like, outside the parentheses)?

Wrong! read your history and get it right OM, Warren Hardin was the worst.
Jimmy Carter was a honest man and had the most open administration...

Ethel Bontrager has no idea what she is talking about, she needs to get her facts in order, this is why most people are misinformed about history, they listen to some neo-con republican.
Ethel, for your benefit get it right Ike Eisenhower sent advisor's to Viet Nam, when Kennedy took office the repubs dropped this on him, same as the bay of pigs, the past administration lied to the President...

I think FDR may have made bigger mistakes than Carter but that was because he had the chance to make bigger mistakes. Had Carter been president in 1941 the USA would be a distant memory discussed only in Japanese and German history books (which would be read from Iceland to Africa and Siberia to New Zealand respectively.)
I think in terms of reasoning ability and lack of judgment, the worst president of the 20th century is really beyond dispute. James Earl Carter didn't do a single thing right during his presidency. He ran when he should have fought, surrendered when he should have negotiated, micro-managed when he should have been hands off, and exercised 'command and control' when he should have been 'laissez faire'.

Kennedy totally mismanaged the Bay of Pigs; he was responsible for the coup that overthrew Diem and destablized the country in a way that required Johnson to send in troops. As to the theory that JFK would have pulled out troops if he had lived, He would have been faced with the same mess that Johnson faced.

Is she nuts? Germany declared WAR on the US after Pearl Harbor. Does she really blame Roosevelt for fighting back against an evil dictatorship that declared war on America.
As for Truman and Kennedy, I guess that it's too much to hope that she would blame the communists who actually started the wars. And she calls it liberation when Pres Bush acted preemptively against terrorism, but 2 democrats do the same thing against communism forces and it's wrong.
The remarks about Clinton and Bosnia simply misses the mark. We never declared war on Bosnia, I believe all Bosnia every saw of us were a few peacekeepers. Kosavo(sp?) is where we had Clinton's famous air war.
The only one she got half right was Pres. Johnson, whose micromanagement of the military, destroyed the war effort.
If she was to give examples of Bad Presidents then she should start with President Wilson, who won by smearing his opponent with accusations that he would get the US fighting in WW1. Something Wilson promptly did upon entering office.
There is not enough space to list all the harmful effects of the Clinton presidency. But Bosnia?, that's such small potatos. It's like critizing hitler for his mustache.
Not to mention Iraq never attacked us nor have we ever declared war on it. Go after the people who did the attacking: Al-freakin'-Qaeda
