What I love even more about this is that Edwards will be there waiting in 2008 to provide Hillary with a very viable alternative. Edwards is the other white meat for the D's: no baggage, good looking, Southern, not married to Bill, not shrill, not polarizing, and he's still the meat puppet of the Bar. He's built for the job of being beaten by an R in 2008.

"I could go on but you get my drift. You and I will not decide this election but a few independents in Ohio, Missouri and Wisconsin will."
You are right (although I'm not sure about the three states you mentioned; but it doesn't matter, if not those three, it will be three others). I am in Illinois. I will vote for Bush against al-Qerry. But it will be a throw-away vote, because Bush stands zero chance of carrying Illinois.

Shucks Rosie, we might as well have W deliver his concession speech right now.

No, their only hope is what they bank on daily... creating a false reality and hope enough folks buy into it. Of course, you have to have a Jim Jones kind of charisma to lead enough of them astray to win... just like Bill Clinton.
Our best hope is that there are enough of us who are solid in our perception of reality, and that Kerry is no Clinton AKA Jim Jones.

Ohio rejected liberal candidates for President in 1980, 1984, and 1988, all by large margins.
Why would you choose to assume that they will pull the lever for the Senator with the most liberal voting record in 2003?
Because slick won twice in the 90s.
Because Bush + Buchannon only beat Gore + Nader by less than 85,000 votes out of 2.5+ million.
How many jobs have been lost in Ohio?

I thought I read somewhere, within the last day or two, that Kerry doesn't poll to well among independents. As opposed to Edwards.
To: Owl_Eagle
To the independents only free floating general impressions invariably formed from television matter.
I fear the big television media, the networks, will not present the IMAGES which matter. Remember independents are not junkies like us.

I think he does have a talent, just no tthe one he thinks he has. Morris is very good at seeing many political nuances that no-one else sees -- like a tactician.
But he is very bad at summing them all up and coming out with an outcome -- like a strategist.
It is an odd talent.

Because slick won twice in the 90s. Which proves my point - he redefined himself by moving to the center. Kerry 's voting record won't allow him to do the same.
Because Bush + Buchannon only beat Gore + Nader by less than 85,000 votes out of 2.5+ million.
The DUI charge narrowed that margin, nothing else - the President was leading by 10 points in the Ohio Poll seven days before the election.
How many jobs have been lost in Ohio?
Unemployment in Ohio is at 6.0 percent, better than the average of the past ten years, and we are seeing job growth again. Our economy is growing, and the employment numbers will continue to improve all year.
You can see the glass as half empty or half full. I believe President Bush will carry Ohio comfortably.

I do not doubt that Hillary would sell out her own grandmother or the country for that matter to advance her own selfish interest. I know that is your view is Rush's view, that Hillary will sabotage any promising democrat candidate.
I don't buy it. I rarely buy into conspiracy theories, except involving the Frankfurt School, because the old adage about the obvious explanation being the correct explanation is usually right. If Hillary really had that kind of power she would directly advance her own interests now and rig the election instead of waiting four or eight more years.
Look instead for Kerry to cut some kind of a deal with the she-devil.

Gee, Dick...why don't you tell us what you REALLY think?
To: grobdriver
I think he's right on the money on this one. I think a Edwards/Clinton ticket would have presented a much more formidable challenge. Remember, even a stopped is right twice a day.

Remember independents are not junkies like us.
That's one of the hardest things to do and I'm continually stunned when I hear Independents say things like "Bush lied", "All Iraqis hate us", "Osama bin Laden hates us because we abandoned him in Afghanistan" etc.
It's very difficult to get a read on who "the independent" voter is. Is he/she apathetic (and if so will they even show up?), is he/she a neutral observer (and if so, how saavy?), is he/she someone who holds opinions that stradle both parties planks?
Still, my belief is that Kerry will be exposed for what he is and come November, the voting public will hold their noses and vote G Dub in for a second term.

Yet even in California, Kerry did not run nearly as well with independents who were eligible to vote in the Democratic primary as he did among party members. This trend was more pronounced in Tuesday's voting in Ohio and Georgia, according to exit polls conducted by Edison Media Research/Mitofsky International.
In that way, the results underscored Kerry's ability to mobilize Democrats and the challenge he may face with independents as the campaign's focus shifts to the battle against Bush.

Well, Karl Rove is paid the big bucks to know what moves the inscrutabble independent voters who will swing this election.
I just hope he gets this one right because I believe this is a watershed election with the loser going on defense for a generation. So far I have not been impressed with his moves since the midterms.
