Not sure if there is a thread for the post election stuff, but just wanted to say if anyone ever tells me that the illegal alien problem in the country is not a problem serious enough, I will personally put their head on a platter and stuff an apple in it. Don't ask where I'll put the carrot.
Measure A passed in Alameda county, which increases our sales tax to 8.75%, for the sole purpose of giving health care to the 'low income and disenfranchised (SP)'.
That is code for illegals.
I am paying even more now, on all taxable purchases, for illegals getting emergency room care.
This sucks.

Well, Contra Costa County just rejected a ban on big stores selling groceries (read, Walmart). So, if a Walmart is ever built there...well, you can shop there. :-P

Ya know, I was so busy paying attention to the other propositions, that I forgot about measure L (the Big Box ban). So it was rejected? Good. However, Measure 2 passed, the bridge toll increase, and am I ever steamed about that. What a boondoggle. The people paying the bridge tolls won't see any benefit from the money they're paying to cross the bridges. The money is going to "transit" projects, and a goodly chunk of it is going to a transbay terminal. A building. yippee.
