Rejoice! His death was planned. All went according to plan. Even Judas did his part. Even from evil deeds, something VERY GOOD happened.

I get the feeling from the interviews I've read/seen that Mr. Gibson won't be adding, or deleting for that matter, anything for the DVD release. I'd think that he released the film he wanted to, since there wasn't any pressure from a larger company, like Paramount, WB, etc., to make edits.

The edited-for-TV version would be a good version for the masses, since the goriness is the only thing critics can come up with now that Abe Foxman said the movie isn't anti-semitic.

This may sound rude, but that and the fact that most conservatives have actual day jobs where they can't just up and go to the movies whenever they feel like it.
I think of that every time I hear about "phone polls" that slam W.
Most Republicans aren't sitting around the house at 2 pm, watching the soaps when the pollsters call.
Same thing goes for the voting polls at election time.
I know my husband, my parents and myself always had to rush to the polls late because we had to work during the day.
We didn't have the luxury of showing up in bussed-in, organized droves.

Did it affect your niece's game? Then, trash talk mission accomplished.

I'm going to see the movie on Good Friday. I'll be interested to see the numbers for that day.

From what I heard on OReilly last night. He called the two directors mentioned in The New York Times, and it sure sounded like they were backtracking on their comments.A lot of people are backtracking. There's an article out there about just that--all the folks that called Mel crazy, said the movie would flop, said it was anti-jew, etc. are now eating their words and replacing them with accolades, hoping none of us notice.
I plan on seeing the movie this weekend with my family (4 of us). We're considering this movie to be more of an event, so we wanted to wait for the weekend when we're relaxed and able to absorb and digest the message. I suspect millions more are going to do the same. It'll be interesting to see what the 1 week numbers are.

The girl who said that to your niece is an ignorant child with extremely bad manners. A loser, in short. I hope your niece's team beat the pants off the opposition.

Look for a strong weekend (since most folks aren't sci-fi geeks who can skip school), and an absolutely huge Sunday.I'm part of that Sunday crowd. Got my tickets for a 12:50 show.

And, I know this sounds like painting a mustache on Mona Lisa, but I bet a lot would like a dubbed version where the people speak in English.

When this film was being promoted several weeks ago I really didn't have any desire to see it. I just felt that I didn't want to have to sit through two hours of violence inflicted upon the primary simbol of the christian faith. But after reading the reviews I believe my wife and I will go see it. The fact that is is getting under the skin of the hollywierd crowd is worth the price of admission.

Are you kidding? The edited-for-TV version would be fifteen minutes long. I disagree with that. The part with the cat-o-nine-tails would be cut but you'd still know the beating is happening. As for his appearance I think cable viewers can handle it if you've ever seen Buffy or Angel then you would be used to gruesome images and the beating of Jesus (as he walked) an be handled if you've ever seen something like 24.

Tacky as hell, sounds like it was just to be mean.

As a Bible believing Christian, I am sorry for what was said to your niece. The point of the movie is forgiveness not blame. We all nailed Him to the cross and all share the blame, but he loves and forgives us. And most of all He TOOK the blame for all OUR sin and paid our debt, so now we can have a relationship with a HOLY Father God. If Jesus had not suffered for us, everyone of us would be facing that judgement for a Holy God who can not tolerate sin. That is what I believe and pray others accept.
This story you told does sadden me.
I pray someone corrected and teaches the offending child this Truth. We all killed Jesus.
Hugs your neice for me.... please.
Sincerely, Tess

I certainly hope the DVD will contain some behind the scenes material and edited scenes or takes that didn't make the final film.

my niece plays basketball for a Jewish Community Center team. Yesterday they played the Methodists and right before the tipoff an 11 year old girl said to my niece in an angry and audible voice, "You killed my Savior!" NICE!
And THAT little example of Christian tolerance should have been rewarded with being bounced from the game at the least.

Check out
my review. What I believe the detractors actually feared is that this movie will stir Christians. It reminds you why you are Christian and why you resist must against evil.
