Thank God I live in a neighborhood with absolutely no association rules, ccr's coventants, or other restrictions... and know my neighbors...and the home of the free, and for the most part, we all do really well.
Communes for communists

Where's the picture everyone is talking about?
That's odd. The image isn't coming up on my browser. It's the newest version of netscape too. Thanks for responding. Now I know I have a problem - not that I know what it is...

Sincere thanks for taking the time to give me a link. I saw an outline of where the picture was suppose to be but no picture. I right clicked my mouse and hit "view image" and still nothing. This is strange. I also can't type out the word **** or in****ial with this browser. It comes up all stars - ****. Perhaps I have enemies who've hacked into my computer....

If she don't like to get the grass cut, why didn't she just spray the darned stuff with a little Roundup? That oughta satisfy the law. and it aint hard to do.

that was my first thought...if she were friendly with her neighbors, looks to me like they wouldn't have minded taking turns mowing her lawn.

It could be because the picture is linked to FR and every time this thread is viewed, the picture link takes a hit. It ncould be somethin as simple as the picture link is on a server with an hourly bandwidth limit and not something wrong with your computer.
Try it again at 2AM and see if you can get the picture. :-)

"Maybe the picture was taken in December."
Perhaps, I never thought about that.....but how did she get those decorations up on her house anyway?
To: Grit
Perhaps no rights at all. I was raised in the military and I can remember everyone being responsible for keeping up their yards. Maybe that's where this comes from for me.
The neighbors aren't asking for much....just an occasional mowing. Is that so ridiculous to ask?
To: Arpege92
She got it done, her church is mowing it for her, but the fines keep increasing because she doesn't have $190,000+ to pay her fines. She's being charged 200/day. Don't you think that is a bit ridiculous and extreme?

The first house in the neighborhood was pink, too. That told me all I needed to know about the neighbors. That also should have told you that the neighborhood association, if it even existed, was NOT made up of Nazis who devote their life to deciding what color homeowners can paint their houses. In my city in California, there was a case where the owners were not allowed to move into their newly built home, all because the color they chose was two shades too dark. And it was a nice, perfectly conservative color, from what I could tell. They had carefully checked with the Nazis before selecting the color, but then the paint dried darker than expected. A long battle ensued, and meanwhile the hapless owners were living in a rent house and paying for the new one too.

$190,000 is definately not fair. Maybe if her church gets a petition started, perhaps this bill would go away.

Go to any neighborhood with a pink house (and I'm talking PINK, not just a rosy tan) and see if it's not either a lousy neighborhood or in severe decline. I'm telling you, little pink houses are a bad omen.

That's Bologna.
She should ask for help or pay for it. My kids and I are should not be responsible for neighbors property. I keep my yard looking great. Fortunately, so do my neighbors. I live on Long Island and pay buco taxes. If someone moved in and made a beyond normal eyesore next to my house and I wanted to sell my house, I would be angry. She wants to live like a pig, do it in a location it doesnt affect the entire neighborhood. She was warned. She ignored warning, too bad on her. She thought too bad on neighborhood when she didnt care for property.

She was disabled and in financial straits, she got it taken care of but did not have the money to pay the 200/day fines which are still accruing.
To: T.Smith
Your right and if that happened in my neighborhood I would send my son over there. What in the world is wrong with people that they can't help and old lady mow her frickin lawn.
