After years of shilling for "everything Republican", Rush comes off his Oxycondin-induced high and sees what's really happening to this country.

Rush is right as usual.

I'VE NEVER HEARD HOWARD STERNI find this comment disingenuous.
I'm a Rush and Howard Stern fan. I hope that Rush continues to come to Howard's defense.

The government did not suspend Stern, Clear Channel did.
But only after Stern mused about sex with a 'n#gger' and asking if she smelled like a watermelon.
Just because TV is in the toilet, does not mean we should lower our standards on radio.
To: Tumbleweed_Connection
Wasn't it Clear Channel doing the censoring & not the Fed's?

Drudge's caps lock must be busted.
Good to see Rush chiming in on this issue.

Stern, for all his flaws, is one of the top money-makers in radio. It is inconceivable that Rush would not listen to Stern, now and then, to hear what's going on elsewhere in his industry.
To: Tumbleweed_Connection
Didn't Clear Channel drop the Dixie Chicks from their stations playlist? Did Rush decry that?
To: Middle Man
That's "Oxycontin" dummy, and Rush is a recovering
addict, what's your excuse.

To: familyofman
Clear channel wouldn't get fined for playing Dixie Chicks. That was their choice but they're dropping Stern because of the FCC.

I am personally sick and tired of the public airways both TV and Radio pushing violence, sexual promiscuity, sexual irresponsibility and immorality.....
Rush has never been a moralist, let alone religious, and he certainly does not like women in general, so why am I not surprised about his rant today....

Stern didn't say any of that. An idiot caller did.

With all of Rush's grandstanding...did he come out against the filthy things that Stern had to say? I've grown tiresome of Rush. His ego gets in the way of his talent.

Since when is Clearchannel "the government"? Rush, pause and take a deep breath: the government is not threatening the 1st Amendment.
For that matter, I don't think ClearChannel is either. They have the right to make policy for their radio stations.

Be careful what you wish for. Censorship of any speech or point-of-view is a slippery slope. You may not appreciate Howard Stern's program, but you certainly shouldn't be calling for its censorship. Next comes the censorship of your ideas. I realize in this case Clear Channel did it, but only under the gun of the FCC.

In addition to coming off narcotics, nothing helps people to see clearly like the threat of possibly loosing money (or making less).
