"My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" If He knowingly knew what He was doing in sacrificing Himself, then he had no reason to question why He was being forsaken.

Up until this point, the Lord Jesus Christ had complete communion with the Father. At this point, the sins were loaded onto him and He became the scapegoat for folks like us. The Lord Jesus cries out in anguish in the pain of that separation and I believe that pain was worse than that of the cross itself.

So I believe this is more of an expression of pure pain than questioning God. It is also pure scripture from the old testament.. Eli Eli... proof that he is the Messiah.

Do you not know this?
