Make Your presence so very real to Norman and Eternal Warming as they walk where they do not want to go ... help them as they take each step. Touch Norman with Your healing hand ... ease his breathing ... manifest Yourself in the surgeon's skills, that Norman would begin to regain. May the beauty of Your words echo within the hearts of this devoted couple ... let them draw upon Your strength and the comfort of Your children as we lift them in prayer before the Throne of Grace. I'm just so broken-hearted, I can't seem to stay up where I need to be. The thought of losing him is just more than I can bear. How do you lose the biggest and best part of your soul and survive?

Dear Lord, I know You are with this woman and her husband in their hour of need. Please comfort them, guide them, and help them as only You know best. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Thank you, Lord, for the gift of prayer.

I know how you feel, and it's OK to feel that way. I feel the same way about my own situation. Sometimes it's hard to see how life will be worth living once my wife is gone. Sometimes it's even hard for me to pray. The Lord has been with me even then, just as He is with you now.

The Bible has a lot to say about death, including that it is not the end. Sometimes I think of it as similar to birth.

Something that runs through my head at the darkest times is:
Ye though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
I will fear no evil
For Thou art with me.
Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me
.......
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life
And I shall dwell in the House of the Lord forever.

I'm sure you know the rest. Your husband shall dwell in the House of the Lord forever, and so shall you.

BTW: Until you've "been there" it's hard to know how you feel right now. My wife of 30 years and mother of our 4 children has multiple myeloma, an incurable and 100% fatal cancer of the immune system. It lives in the bones and causes LOTS of bone damage. She was diagnosed so late that she was in the hospital, almost dead, before they even knew what it was. She had a 50/50 shot at 3 months. She was 46. Our youngest was in the 8th grade. That was 3 1/2 years ago. We are hoping that she will see him graduate from high school.

The time we were given has been very precious, not least because we both know we will dwell in the House of the Lord forever. It looks like she will get there before I do, but that's OK. I will miss her terribly, but it's only temporary.

The Lord seems to be saying to not be afraid and speaks thru His word of victory.

Keep listening. Prayers are being said right now for you and Norman. We ask God to heal Norman, and bring him comfort and peace of mind. We ask for your peace of mind, your strength in coping with your fears.

Prayers and a bump...

Remember that the Lord will not ask you to go through more than you can bear. The Lord has a reason for letting these things happen, though we cannot yet understand why. It is important in your prayers to keep a desire to see God's purpose fulfilled foremost in your heart. No, this isn't an easy thing to do. I've been there and I know how difficult it is to surrender your own desires to God's. There is, however, great peace when you let go and trust in God and trust that He knows what He's doing.
