That should be Confucius, not Julius Caesar. Julius Caesar's only certain child, Julia, died in childbirth, and her baby died, so there is no one alive today descended from Julius Caesar (unless he had illegitimate children, which is entirely possible). Cleopatra's son Caesarion may have been the (illegitimate) son of Julius Caesar, but I don't believe he had any offspring.

I don't believe it was explained what their connection is, but I don't know how they are related unless it comes from the female side. His grandparents (paternal side) came around 1900. Bush's ancestors were practically in this country since time began. If one of Kerry's lines go back to possibly the 16 or 1700's, it would be possible. After that I would doubt it.
