And I notice the aging former Amb Robert White... oh, yeah, I thought he was familiar! Another Carter-type sweetie who claims to be anticommunist but spent a LOT of time hanging out with fellow travelers in Latin America, and so on. Never quite pulled off the 'patriotic but moderate' ambassador thing - more into Liberation Theology, insincere human-rights sympathies, etc....

Also, he was president of the Center for International Policy in 1990 +.

OK?

It's against the law (Federal) for US citizens to negotiate with foreign governments...this includes John F'ing Kerry. The Justice Dept needs to investigate.

The letter is from the group "Americans Overseas for Kerry" (sorta like Republicans Abroad) and titled "A Letter for Democrats Abroad".

Maybe it was a mass, untargetted spam or perhaps there is a US citizen working at the Mehr News Agency (it has an english-language wire). Still, it's rather unprofessional of the news agency. Beginner journos know to at least alter a press release at least a bit from the original and they should also have understood where the email was coming from.
