Right on jv. I stopped listening to his show the very day last month when I heard him say, "Senator Kerry, I endorse you."

That was the last straw. He as much abandoned his listeners and basically stated that everything he has said heretofor has been a lie. Screw him.

I like Barnicle too but I want to throttle him when he starts to rant about "Why hasn't anyone asked Rumsfeld 'Why did my kid have to die in Iraq NOW!?'"
That is such a disingenuous question and he darn well knows the answer.

BTW, did you hear Margerie Eagan and Jim Braude's show on deep fried turkey for the Superbowl? If you heard her interview a caller named Carol from Milford about it...that was Mrs. B.S. Roberts.

Margerie called her that night at home and interviewed her for her column in the Herald the next day. She was very tickled to get her 15 minutes of fame.

We turn on 96.9 FM whenever we're in MA, mostly for Jay Severin. He likes Ketchup Boy??! Oy.

Howie's on 95.1 - cape station, I think - from 3 to 7.

Jay Severin ticks me off. I go back and forth listening to him - can't take him for a coupla months and so I listen to Howie, get sick of Howie and I turn on Severin. Severin lost it during the Mexican immigration issue last month. He literally screamed and ranted against Bush and said he'd never vote for him. He kind of lost it there. I've been tuning in a bit to him lately because he is against the "homo marriage" (his words) - which surprises me. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

Very weird. The farther away I get from Boston the better the RKO reception. I live in a downtown building and have a below sea level garage that I park in. The only two stations I can pick up at two or three levels under sea level and tons of concrete are 96.9 and 401.1 WBCN. AM is just horrible in my car. But in my apartment I can easily pick up any AM station. It is weird- many of my friends say the same thing as you. What is with bad AM reception in cars in Boston?

Today Jay was AWOL. It seems he is always away these days when Kerry needs intensive counseling. He was away when Kerry dumped his staff and now Kerry has to do some 'splaining. Isn't Jay precious?

Is it really possible that he is betraying his audience so much? Today I heard him on Sean Hannity show and he was again very reluctant to say anything bad about Kerry. I do not think Sean Hannity really knows what Severin is doing recently else he may be reluctant to have him on his show. Even worse I heard Sean saying that his going to have a common show with Severin in two weeks. Someone needs to tell Sean what Jay Severin is recently doing on his show and how his betraying his base by severely attacking President Bush and letting Kerry slide by without any significant criticism.

Jay just closed the show today by refusing to follow the argument of a caller that indeed all voters have "standing" with respect to the actions of a candidate, sexual or otherwise, by using the argument that although gay marriages are between two people the outcome influences society and that since the government sanctions such contracts and we are the government then we indeed have standing. He was saying that the governed is the government and as such a candidate/elected official must act according to the wishes of the governed. Therefore, in all of the stages of the process, we indeed have standing.

Jay refused to listen, worked around the logic, and closed his show. He is working for the enemy.

With the denials of the relationship Kerry had with Alex I could only think about the times Severin described a method of immunizing a candidate against future attacks by floating falsehoods in advance that could be easily denied but must be plausible to start with so to embarrass the media into backing off in the future. I believe this whole thing was just that. Severin is very smart but someone will betray him. Wouldn't it be something for Kerry not to have to answer any of these accusations in the future due to Severin's actions to preempt such reporting. He is working for the enemy.

On Monday Feb/17, I called Jay Severin show and asked him why his not telling his audience about John Kerry ultra liberal record, why he is not telling his audience about John Kerry huge flips flops and contradictions on such very important like the war in Iraq and the Patriot act and why he keep attacking the President on every possible opportunity and keep telling us that John Kerry is war hero and he admires him a lot. He was very defensive and told me that it is too early to talk in about John Kerry record, "it is only February" according to him. His reply was rather very weak and very unconvincing. I think we should be sending e-mails and calling 96.9 FM talk to ask for his removal and replacing him with a live Sean Hannity show. I already did that twice.

Severin is a fraud...has been since day one. Though he likes to pretend to be "live and local," he's actually broadcasting out of his basement in Sag Harbor, NY. Unless, of course, the station spokeswoman quoted in the story below was lying.

He's a washed up turd--urge 96.9 to get rid of him.

Did you catch the 6:00 hour today? Severin is on vacation, funny, he seems to always go away when Kerry is away, and, Jay admits he is going west to the rockies, real close to Kerry, but why I write is I was listening to Bernie of Imus fame, and he was being beat up about Imus' take on Kerry and Bush as well as his own. He must have said something real bad because they just went silent and when a promotion was done for the fill-in hosts this week they redacted Bernie from the promo. If Kerry is paying Severin or a company that pays Severin, wouldn't it be reported?

Unfortunately I was still working at 6:00 PM. However you are making so very interesting observation regarding Jay Severin "vacation". I am absolutely sure that he is supporting Kerry because when I called him few weeks ago and asked him why he is not showing Kerry record he give the silly answer that it is still to early to do so. However, at the same time he was attacking President Bush like a flaming liberal.

It will be a good idea if someone can investigate if Severin is really working behind the scenes for John Kerry. If proven, it will be the end of Severin because his ratings will go down the toilet or he will be replaced by the Sean Hannity show.
