Yeah, they should have had Toyota make the rover..... then it would still be going when we finally got people there.

But Spirit was only transmitting "pseudo-noise", a random series of zeroes and ones in binary code and not anything the scientists could decipher.

And how do they know it is random noise? Hmnnn? How do they know it is not being controlled by some one trying to communicate with us? So many questions.....100100110001101110

Like they say... there's only 10 types of people: those who understand binary and those who don't.

I didn't realize software could be affected by extreme cold, radiation and a fiery decent into a hostile atmosphere, more likely a hardware problem.

One problem with a wayward rover is it might forget to recharge its battery.

Why hasn't anyone thought of this solution?

What if Spirit Rover has suddenely realized through A.I. that it is not in Pasadena anymore...and is freaking out!

Binary Gibberish could be praying...

Then too..it could be data stream for Citibank Mastercard.

Rover could be like NASA....make Money before Science : )

It apparently died immediately after feeding it new commands.

It is also possible they gave it bad or incomplete commands crashing the system.
