I am searching for updated information tonight on where the rover is located. Sunday AM's press conference said that the rover should be descending the petals now.

Thanks for posting this, bones. This is amazing. Has Al claimed that he invented Mars yet?
To: bonesmccoy
What are the consequences of the rover tipping over? Does it have capabilities to correct itself?

NASA TV has a documentary discussing the criteria identified for the landing of the rovers.
I am hoping to identify if any live NASA coverage is pending.
If any Freepers have info on major TV News outfits, please post.

The mission is over if the rover tips over... it shouldn't because the wheel base is out some... and I doubt that JPL would risk the move if they weren't confident of the ability of the rover to survive the drop for a few feet.

LOL! I can imagine the "pucker-factor" is pretty high for the cats sending the commands to Spirit. What's the delay, like 4 minutes?

Have they been able to photograph the parachute and braking rockets?
To: bonesmccoy
Actually, I believe deadly Dean was 'scene' jabbing skyward, shouting, "You sit down. You sit down. Now I'll have my say."
