I completely agree. From anyone even casually familiar with her record, it should be obvious that she's as solid as they come. To say that she's less qualified than a governor of a small state, a rabble rousing preacher, or a one term senator with an ex President husband is absurd.

Rather to dote on her qualifications and tremendous strengths, let me address her weaknesses. The only two issues that she is soft on, from a conservative standpoint, are affirmative action and being pro choice. On both issues she is only mildly in favor of them.

Guess what, America? Affirmative action and pro choice laws are not going away under ANY President, until the popular opinion in the nation is moved further to the right.

The arguement for affirmative action goes out the window if a black female President is elected. That is a strategic victory for us and would expose a sacred liberal mantra of 'Republican racism' as a lie.

As for being pro choice, the last I heard Condi said that she is personally for it, but feels that it should be a state issue, not a federal one. If you want an idea of how liberals will react to that one, go throw some holy water on a vampire.

She won't appeal to fanatics on either side. As an administrator and a hawk, she's top notch. She's Bush's closest advisor, and has the intellectual credentials and natural ability to flatten any Democrat. The only concerns about her that I've heard about her are neither convincing nor serious enough to outweigh her advantages.

Cheney is in poor health can would not make a strong candidate in 2008. We cannot afford to be myopic and must think about 4 yeard down the road. Cheney can still be an adviser. But for VP, I would recommed Tom Ridge (Vietnam veteran, congressman, governor, and as Homeland Security Director has prevented repeat attack since 9/11). A Ridge/Rice ticket COULD beat Hillary in 2008.

The real hoot will be that when some of "the neocons" (a word the cranks use when they really mean to say "THE JOOZ!") actually resign to return to high paying gigs in the private sector and the Blak Helikopterz Krowd scream "blood purge". The fact that other "neocons" (such as Rice or Abrams, and probably Wolfowitz-the latter two being a pair of JOOZ!, by the way...) will remain in the White House and close to Bush will be lost on them.

The "realist" faction, if it did exist, was defeated decisively when Bush went to war. Some people have yet to buy a clue, much less a vowel. Bush has decided to ignore Dad, Baker and Scowcroft and change as much of the Middle East as humanly possible. However, they have their uses, namely an ability to go to capitols like London, Paris, and Moscow and tell the usual suspects that they can have no money back from an Iraqi government that will renounce the Saddam debt, or have 25 cents on the dollar back from an Iraqi government that will renounce the Saddam debt.

Jim Baker happens to be just the right guy to send on this job, precisely because he is a no Don't F*#k With Me heavyweight. He is not interested in retiring Dick Cheney and sending all those JOOZ! out to pasture. Such an assertion is specious bullcrap, and should be treated as such.

However, I'm sure Pat Buchanan could be convinced into writing another column about the JOOZ! in the neoconservative movement, if you really leaned on him.
