Then during the last part of July one of the Park geologists discovered a huge bulge at the bottom of Yellowstone Lake. The bulge has already risen over 100 feet from the bottom of the lake...

100 feet! This is major if true, methinks.

Yellowstone super volcano eruption could truly be an extinction level event.

Is this why I always see Al Qaeda there with pickaxes and shovels?

I retract my former humor post. My son is doing laundry without being told. It IS the end of the world.

I didn't notice the 2500x until I had already typed my comments. 3600x is pretty close considering the precision of my 10 mile radius was from a quick glance at a Mt. St. Helens web site. Change that to a 12 mile kill radius and you have (600/12)^2 = 2500.

Geologists claim the Yellowstone Park area has been on a regular eruption cycle of 600,000 years.

My BS meter is getting warm...

"If somehow the government did have some warning signs of something like this happening, what do you think the government would do?"

Great - just great.

One national warning system for terrorist attacks and now another one for volcano eruptions.

The last eruption was 640,000 years ago making the next one long overdue.

My B.S meter is getting hot....

This is the park of OLD FAITHFUL. You can practically set your eon by it.

I just hope Hillary rushes in to be the first for a photo-op. Oh, the sackcloth and ashes!

What's the inverse-square law,

Any point source that spreads out equally form the origin point obeys the physics of inverse square -- The intensity of the influence at any given radius r is the source strength divided by the area of the sphere.

This is evidenced in things like the blast damage at the OKC bombing being greater at distances farther away from the blast than directly in front of it ... OOOOOPS ... well maybe the inverse square law has some flaws or exceptions.

people visiting the Park usually stay but a few hours before leaving since the stench of sulfur is so strong they literally can't stand the smell.

My BS meter is starting to shake...

When Yellowstone does blow, some geologists predict that every living thing within six hundred miles is likely to die.

My BS meter just exploded in flames...

Sulfur cooks out of the geysers, so if things are getting overall hotter, that would be expected. Is Old Faithful getting a bit faster now?
