EVERYTHING Bush does is to pay back his campaign contributors. He got over $100 million in the last election and will probably surpass that for the upcoming election. He makes it look like he's doing things for the middle class but the rich and corporations are the ones who get 90% of the benefits. Taxes, health care, oil, etc.
Now he wants even more cheap labor for his campaign contributors and a few more Hispanic votes.
I'm a conservative but you couldn't pay me to vote for Bush. The man is evil.
P.S. I could never vote for any of the Democrats either.

A president who allows "guest workers" to remain in this country after their visas have expired, has broken the law of the United States just as the "guest worker" has. This is grounds for impeachment. We impeached Bill Clinton and we can also do the same to George Bush! LOL! This takes 1st Prize for the most hysterical attack by far on the Bush proposal. Good job!
Next we are going to hear that anybody who over-stays their visa should be executed in public along with anyone who employs, assists or befriends them.
Give me a major break.
The September 11 atrocity would never have happened had our borders been closed. Simple as that.
NEWSFLASH. THOSE who committed the Sept 11 atrocity were ALL HERE LEGALLY.

You know, this thread has done more to make me fear for the future of the United States than almost anything else I've ever seen.
This is supposed to be a bastion of conservatism - politically astute people suggesting politically astute policies - and instead half of you posters are acting like it's no big deal if Bush goes ahead and offers illegal immigrants amnesty.
What does Bush have to do to finally get you to taking that Republicrat I.V. out of your veins?
http://www.americafirstparty.org Eventually, it'll be a credible alternative. But only if intelligent people wake up and actually decide to do something about it.
Like the television ad for Miller Brewing Co. says, "You can stand in like and take what they give you, or..."

I believe your fears are clearly based in a misunderstanding of what our position is and what Bush is proposing.
Bush is not for blanket amnesty for illegals. He's said that more than once.
He's for the hard-working, tax paying, contributing members of the illegal immigrant society getting a break. That's all.
Let's be reasonable about this. They are already part of our society..and they are not going to turn into terrorists because Bush has offered them amnesty. And if they possibly were illegal al Qaeda sleeper cells, they will now be on record and we will know who they are and where they are.
I think Bush is right on with this proposal.

That's not what I heard.

So you finally admit they are illegal in this country! What about the hard-working american citizen? What about them getting a break from being raped financially from the illegals responsible for bilking our economy dry and having our hospitals shut down due to lack of funds? What about our state courts that are having to shut down and merge with other courts due to lack of state funds? Guess who gets stuck with the high bills on that? The attorneys! That's right, the attorneys pay the higher cost due to lack of state funds.
And tell me another thing...why are most businesses leaving the State of California? There is no business here anymore. The jobs are gone. If these illegals want to take over and destroy this State they have done a great job. The problem is, we americans aren't paying for this out of our pockets anymore. Guess who picks up the tab? Certainly not the feds cause they've through bailing this State out.

Let me see. This thread is about Bush offering work permits/amnesty to illegal immigrants.
And you are asking me if I "finally admit" they are illegals.
Are you trying to make me laugh on purpose or what dude?

Bush is not for blanket amnesty for illegals. He's said that more than once. What he says is for public consumption. He and his donors want a blanket amnesty and would have got it if 9/11 hadn't complicated things.
He's for the hard-working, tax paying, contributing members of the illegal immigrant society getting a break. That's all.
He cares more about illegal aliens than average Americans.
Let's be reasonable about this. They are already part of our society..and they are not going to turn into terrorists because Bush has offered them amnesty.
True. But granting them legal status will not stop their demand for government services or ease school overcrowding which are bankrupting my State.

I can understand your disagreeing with Bush on this issue..but saying "He cares more about illegal aliens than average Americans" is something I can't believe you actually believe. Truthfully.

"Are you trying to make me laugh on purpose or what dude?"
No, but I believe you are. What do you mean by your term "illegal immigrants"? What part of illegal immigration do you not understand? The idea of illegal immigrants needing a break is complete bull. What about the ones who came here legally? Did they ever get any breaks? No, they had to pass a test and physical exam and swear an oath to uphold our laws in front of immigration officers.
The idea of Bush and Congress granting amnesty and giving social security to illegals is an impeachable offense per Article 2, Section 4 of the United States Constitution. It is the job of the Commander in Chief per Article 4, Section 4 to protect this Country from invasion. When this duty is breached, it calls attention for impeachment.
I suggest a class action lawsuit against those members of Congress, Tom Ridge, and others in this current administration for violating their oaths of office, in their personal and official capacities, and have them personally served with a lawsuit. They have not only breached their duties to protect the citizens of this nation from invasion, but they have done so collectively and individually, for concerted effort, to overthrow this country by unlawful means.

The same as it has always been for the Republicans...DIRT CHEAP LABOR! With the added "benefit" of driving down wages for law-abiding, tax-paying Americans. I guess the GOP has done a pretty lousy job of achieving this "goal" of theirs. Wages and real disposable incomes in America have done nothing but rise, across-the-board, for the past 2 decades.

Illegal immigrants are not law-abiding members of our society. They instead constitute, by definition, a class of criminals that has broken the law to cross our borders. The correct response is mass deportation, not mass legalization (or work permits for that matter...).
The characterization of illegal immigrants as upstanding middle class taxpayers is just plain silly. Crime, social safety net use, driving without automobile insurance and so on is endemic in this criminal class and costs society a tremendous amount.
In our society, with the unemployment rate hovering just under 6% and tends of thousands of jobs lost due to companies who are outsourcing operations overseas, there is no excuse for tolerating the presence of illegal immigrants - even if you decide to call them "guest workers".

Maybe you forgot to read this part...
While the details of the plan remain unclear, President Bush is expected to propose
Typical scare-mongering by Chicken Littles to whip the masses into a frenzy, Bush has not even come out with his proposal yet. The facts are that the Republican leaders are backing a resolution where there will be a $1500 fine for the illegals for breaking the immigration law and they will have to go to the back of the line behind those that came in legally to get citizenship...here's the story:
The last major legalization program in 1986, when more than 2 million illegal immigrants were granted blanket amnesty, was a failure. The move did not stem illegal immigration, but instead created an avenue for millions of new immigrants to legally enter the country to visit newly legal relatives. Many illegally overstayed their temporary visas. With that lesson in mind, top Republican lawmakers are proposing legislation that would impose a $1,500 fine on illegal immigrants before they were granted legal residency in the United States. Those illegal entrants also would have to line up behind workers who entered the United States under a guest-worker program as they sought legal residency.Bush Rules Out Blanket Amnesty
One more time in caps for those who inevitably fail to comprehend...
THIS IS THE REPUBLICAN LEADER'S PLAN, NOT BUSH'S PLAN. BUSH HAS NOT EVEN PRESENTED A PLAN YET AND HAS NOT ENDORSED THE REPUBLICAN PLAN.
Until such time as Bush presents a plan for our review that we can take apart on it's own merits/faults, I would suggest that y'all cool your heels. Good grief....
