"Incredible. After all the grief you've given me over this. And YOU'RE helping illegal immigrant criminals.
LOL."
Yep. It's true. LOL

"Do you come to heated threads just to argue the opposite of what the majority agrees with? You make a good litmus test for me though. I know that if I agree with you, I'm probably wrong.
"
That's a nice way to put it...

Instead of enforcing the law, local cops are acting as city treasurers and social workers.
I knew we were sold out when this policy went unchanged after 911.

" Lately, Bush is behaving more like a Democrat than a Republican anyway. Someone needs to remind him what party he is a member of.
"
Just wait until he is a lame duck. There is plenty of more room on the left for 'compassion'. He will be working on that legacy.

The only middle class citizens that support illegals are Dems and business owners that employ illegals.

Reagan and Bush will go down in history as having kicked the illegals can down the road. like Clinton did with terrorism.
Same deal. I am beginning to wonder what the Bush policy would be if not for 911. Perhaps not too agressive, by judging his other behavior.

WE want to enforce the laws.
Our elected servants won't let us.

Blame the officials if it makes you feel better, but we are the ones who vote for them, we are responsible.

If stealing a Social Security number --- or a few is legal for foreigners, it should not be a punishable crime if an American does it. All Social Security numbers aren't stolen by illegals only for the purpose of obtaining employment, many steal them to obtain someone's credit, to obtain welfare benefits and everything else. Rewarding foreigners for committing this felony crime but punishing citizens who do it, sets up a double standard.

A new law would likely allow more workers to enter the US legally, thereby preventing the need to come here illegally. That's what they said about the last blanket amnesty --- in the 80's ---- there would be no more illegal immigration --- if they just handed the 300,000 or so illegals already here their papers. Big joke that turned out to be ---- the 3 million who came rushing over the borders got their amnesty and now there are an estimated 20 million in the USA.

By the way, I have acquaintances that are illegals, and I have personally helped them in various ways. Generous ways. And they are good people. That's true --- but only some are --- many are not. Some legals are not good people at all --- just welfare or SSDI moochers. I'd be fore allowing the few illegals who never stold a Social Security number, never had a DWI or unpaid hospital bill, who didn't bring children for the taxpayers to educate, etc stay but deport all those welfare seekers --- legal or otherwise.
We need to change immigration laws so no immigrant can collect any type of government handout, keep only those able to work.

Not sure what your obsession with SS numbers is. So they are going to pay into someone else's account. Doesn't sound too bad to me. In any case, if they use the numbers for purposes other than to get employment, toast them.

You skipped a step, where's the new law? There wasn't one. The proof is in the fact that more illegals continued to come in droves. As I've stated several times, the immigration laws should be made to be the ones we will enforce.

I haven't heard Bush or Ridge mention any new law ---- I could go for a new law that would end all government handouts to all foreigners --- legal and otherwise.
I could see keeping only those who committed no other crimes --- no felony document fraud, no identity theft, no illegal use of documents, no DWI, no shoplifting, no non-payment of hospital and other bills. But include legal immigrants too --- if they can't make their own way here in this country ---- send them back home. We don't need slouches coming here --- too bad we can't ship out our citizen slouches --- but no country would go for that.

Stealing someone's identity is no small crime --- I know some hispanics who have had that done to them ---- it's a big mess to try to straighten out --- and while someone is using your SSN, you can be denied a job, you can be denied credit, mortgage loans and much more. It's not the petty crime you might believe.

A Christmas wish that will more than likely be ignored by our elite public servants...
I wish he cared about me as much as he cares about Mexicans invading my country. I'm tired of all the rationalizations for the invaders, and the total lack of respect for the law. We should enforce our border exactly the way Mexico enforces their Southern border. I wish there was an alternate candidate who would stand up to the invasion sympathizers.

Like I said, if they use it for purposes other than to get a job, throw them out.

Sorry, but I don't want anyone using my SS number for *anything* and that includes getting a job. I can't believe you are defending identity theives. Would you support all of this if it were Clinton pushing for it instead of Bush?

You are hovering around the symptoms of the problem, but not the problem itself. If illegal aliens could have come here legally, then they would not need to use someone else's SS number to get a job, the reason they came in the first place. Illegal aliens have broken our immigration laws, and we let them. By not enforcing our immigration laws properly we are sending the message to potential illegal aliens that we don't take our own laws seriously. Several million illegal aliens speaks volumes about our lack of desire to enforce our immigration laws.
