I knew a man years ago, who would play Christmas hymns all year long, because he said he wanted to always think of the birth of Christ, not just at Christmas. I thought that was a very sweet sentiment.

I have not studied this subject much and do not pretent to understand prophecy.

Truly Satan was an angel of God and his legions as well. Do you know when Satan and his followers were cast out of Heave?

I find it hard to believe that once Satan turned from God that he remained in Heaven.

Would you tell me of your understanding of prophecy and the sequence of events as you understand them.

>> I find it hard to believe that once Satan turned from God that he remained in Heaven.

Approximately 2000 years ago, Jesus said, "And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force." (Matthew 11:12)

>> Would you tell me of your understanding of prophecy and the sequence of events as you understand them.

The Holy Bible scripture is an extremely complicated, and I might be foolish for even attempting to explain to you (in a nutshell) something that I have been studying for over 25 years. But here goes:

Certain events were prophecied to occur, such as the restoration of the nation of Israel (Deut 30:3-5, Isa 11:12, Jer 29:14, etc.) and the preaching of the Gospel to all nations (Matthew 24:14), before the end would come. The former occurred in 1948. The latter began to be fulfilled to a signigicant degree with the invention of technology like radio, increasing in the 1950's with the creation of television and faster means of travel (both complimenting tel-evangelists like Billy Graham). In the last decade it spread even faster with the invention of the internet.

Now there is another sign: the spiritual war against Christianity, and the almost universal hatred of Israel. For the first time since the beginning of Christianity has the religion been attacked so universally. It is even being attacked in formerly devout Christian nations, such as Western Europe and the United States. That, to me, was the signal that Chapter 12 of the Revelation was being fulfilled. In that chapter the "chosen one" (the one chosen by Jesus to rule all nations with a rod of iron) is, well, chosen (hence, a "man-child" -- who is born-again, maybe?). The "birth" of the man-child triggers Satan's final wrath, which is explained in great detail in Chapter 12 through Chapter 20. The term, "chosen one", is my understand of Revelation 2:26-27, which reads, "And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father."

When Satan has deceived the nations sufficiently enough -- when the universal hatred against Israel builds to the point that all nations are allied against it -- God will deliver Israel (Chapter 20). Then will be the judgment (also in Chapter 20).

After the judgement, there are still nations, and there are still kings (Rev 21:24). But the earth is ruled by the "chosen one", called the "Lamb", from the holy city "New Jerusalem" (Rev 21:2). The curse put upon mankind from Adam's time is removed (Rev 22:3). And those that do God's Commandments will live happily ever after (Rev 22:14). Outcasts will be "dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie" (Rev 22:15).

Thanks for your reply. This is a subject I have not given much study to. Prophecy is pretty difficult to understand for me. So much is written in a figurative way that I tend not to try and relate it to current events. Your summation is certainly worth some thought. Thanks again.

I read somewhere that the Temple in Jerusalem, torn down by the Babylonians, was to be rebuilt before all this happens. Is that correct?

I have heard that, too, but I have never read it -- or, if I read it I did not realize it.
