It is the use of torture and sadistic pleasure taken in viewing and inflicting pain that leaves me speechless.Of course the fear it induces makes people afraid all the time. These people have been robbed of their dignity and any sense of control of their own destiny.I hope some can gain both, and allow others the same privilege.

Yeah, right after you get the support of the Democrats, and a coalition of nations formed to oust Mugabe.

"Man's inhumanity to man", should always leave us dumbstruck. However, the world is filled with evil.
I think that is why the stronger amongst us, must always be vigilant for the weaker. And we should give thanks for our good fortune, of course. But, what we have here in America has been achieved through providence and hard work.
Here's to hoping the Iraqis can regain their strength to rebuild a strong nation. Much of the world is banking on their failure, with glee.

So... we'll be heading to Zimbabwe any day now? Unfortunately, that would be highly non PC. Being as we are a nation awash in PC, it will not happen. Of course, we can't take on the entire world of evil, but we can whack a few of them here and there.

I am always puzzled by the"if you can't do everything,do nothing" idea.

It really is a shame that there are so many anti-Americans in Iraq, but I'm truely pleased that almost none of them are Iraqis.
Soon the trials will begin, and the documentation of the horrors will begin, and even if the papers and newscasters refuse to cover them, the truth will seep out and the world will see.

The cruelty is beyond comprehension. Relating just one incident should be enough to make the leftist critics shut up.

In 1945 a very smart General Eisenhauer ensured that the world would not be able to forget or plausibly deny the holocause by having teams of film makers record the death camps, gas chambers, ovens etc.
We need to be doing the same today. Powerful "Nova" type documentaries need to be produced showing the mass graves, the torture and murder prisons, the broken survivors etc.

arent conservatives generally closer to what you would call a liberal than any of these hating leftists?Yes, in the classical meaning of the word, conservatives are liberal. The left are experts in co-opting and redefining words, and in controlling the channels with which messages get dispersed.
That is why the internet and talk radio are so valuable to opponests of the left.
