Yes, it is kinda hard to explain why Oswald killed a police officer when he was (supposedly) Innocent.

The Mafia comes to you, Campisi says, 'I want you to kill Oswald' -- what are Ruby's choices? At that point he knows there was a conspiracy involving the Mob to kill the president. So he either does it or he's dead. It's just that simple. And the deal is, look, you do this for us and we'll take care of you down the line. Plus, you'll be one of us, which is what he's always wanted to be. And he probably won't be executed for the crime, it'll be murder without malice, he'll do some years and then walk out a hero.

Mr. Blakey has seen too many movies.

In my opinion is was Lyndon Johnson, J. Edgar Hoover, Carlos Marcello, Richard Nixon, Earl Warren, RFK, Castro, Castro haters, Aristotle Onassis, the Russians, the CIA, right wing Texas oilmen, Gerald Ford, and two different Oswalds all asked by Jackie O. to get vengence on her two timing low down husband.

Oh, and Scott Peterson, too.

Through the years, I have read so much on this--the best reporting was years ago in (I believe) Freedom Magazine, or something similar. Iss that the NRA mag?
There are just too many facts ignored by the Warren Commission; too many people who saw/heard things and then went the way of the 40 or 50 people connected with the Clinton stories about Vince Foster, Clinton's womanizing, Ark. drugs,Ron Brown's convenient death, and his partner's death the same day on another continent. etc.--they died unexpectedly, had accidents, etc..

Look at Oklahoma City--do you really believe it was Terry Nichols alone? I don't. The most compeling information presented in the magazine article about JFK's death were pictures taken just minutes after the shooting of men questioning spectators--men who said they were Secret Svc. Many of the people who told these men they heard or saw something are the ones who died in accidents or some other premature way. The SS went directly to the hospital with the Pres. They didn't hang around questioning the crowd, but the CIA or Mafia might have.

I don't believe the Warren Comm.--good grief, look who headed it.
The assasination of a US Pres. was entirely too big to be carried out by one little guy who had so many connections with Russia, the underworld, the CIA. We won't ever know for sure, but I don't accept Warren any more than I accept the govt version of Waco, Ok. City, Vince Foster, Whitewater, Juanita Broderick.

1) the distinguished panel headed by Supreme Court Chief Justice Earl Warren was denied key pieces of the puzzle by the FBI and the CIA. AND 2) the commission inexplicably decided not to pursue this [mob] angle

A few blindly accept the WC anyway. Fine. The real significance for America IMO is not the 1960s assassinations themselves but the lost faith in government. Throw in the "best and brightest" no-win political/media quagmire that killed off and maimed tens of thousands of U.S. bravest and you got a sea change in America -- don't forget the hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese civilians killed off and maimed during the war.

Many said the 1960s assassinations caused great changes in America. True there were changes but IMO the great changes were caused by so much government BS. Many of us realized that nobody was in charge! Elements were running wild and getting away with it. We could no longer (perhaps ever) trust the government. Not that the assassins were in the government but what the hell was going on in our Country?

Speaking of Jack Ruby, the Mob-connected nightclub owner, Dorothy Kilgallen a journalist and popular TV figure from "What's My Line?" had interviewed Jack Ruby and was preparing to write what she learned. Her timely death was just one of many coincidences.

From a web site. "On Sunday November 8 [1965], Dorothy Kilgallen was found dead, sitting fully dressed, upright in bed, early in the morning. The New York City Police investigated and the coroner found that Dorothy Kilgallen had died from ingestion of a lethal combination of alcohol and barbiturates."

TRUE to form, the conspiratorial material only tells half the truth - or a half-truth if you will - rather than the complete truth ...

They'll quiet down soon and sleep until the Fiftieth Anniversary.

Also difficult to explain the transcript of the police radio during the time in question. After directing Tippit to the Oak Cliff area where Oswald and Ruby both lived, the dispatcher checks to see if he is in Oak Cliff, then tells him:

"You will be at large for any emergency that comes in."

Nothing like that quote is sent to any other unit. Looking at the message: Emergency? At large? Sounds like a well set message to me. Couple that with the report of a cop car stopping and honking in front of Oswald's place while he was there, and what have we?

BTW, when Oswald takes the bus from downtown, he takes the one that goes close to Ruby's apartment, (and only within about a quarter mile of his own place) rather than the one that would drop him across the street from his house. Then after leaving his place, (after the cop honks) he heads off walking toward Ruby's. He runs into Tippit when he has gotten a bit over halfway to Ruby's.

Didn't Peter Jennings also report to us that the BATF at the Branch Davidian complex merely acted as heros in self defense. Maybe one, both or neither report quite got it all right.

Where had Oswald been practicing? He didn't drive or own a car. Has there been a witis come forward and state that he took Oswald out to the Trinity River to shoot moving snakes?

Also, why use a scope on a moving target. Every expert I've ever heard talk about this say a normal front to rear sight would have been best.

He got most of it, but not all. The mob did do it, but not just because of the legal "persecution" they were undergoing. Even the mob is patriotic enough to think whacking the President is a bad thing. But, during their negotiations with Castro to try and recover the hundreds of millions they lost when he kicked them out of Havana and confiscated their gambling monies, a business opportunity arose. During their negotiations, the mob revealed to Castro that the CIA was trying to get them to whack him. In retaliation for Kennedy and the CIA trying to have him whacked, Castro wanted Kennedy whacked, and was willing to "make a deal" with the mob if they took care of it. (Key thing to note here, which journalists always forget to mention, is that BIG press conference Castro gave where he announced that if 'leaders of other countries' thought it was OK to kill him, he thought it was OK to kill them, roughly paraphased.) In exchange for their confiscated Millions and Millions and Millions in gambling money, and expressly motivated by the activity of the Justice Dept, the Mob did Castro's dirty deed, taking care of two problems at once. Why the subsequent coverup since the Gov't knew what happened? Simple. If the American people knew Castro had a hand in it, they would have demanded full-scale war with Cuba, which at that time would certainly have resulted in a nuclear exchange with the Soviet Union. Johnson now had his hands on the reins, and in his thinking, (correctly, BTW) why should millions of Americans die because one politician got whacked? All of this is the reason the USA will NEVER normalise relations with Cuba while Castro lives. The day after he croaks, things will change. Also, when Warren came out of LBJ's office after being told he would head the commission, it was noted by visitors that he was crying. The reason he was crying is because he had been told the truth and now had to lie to the American people and cover up what really happened, for their own benefit. A coverup by the Gubment never goes away, too many people like secrets.

"Ruby was always a wannabe around organized crime. He knew the Mob leaders in Dallas, Joe Civello and Joe Campisi...”

Campisi’s Egyptian Restaurant is still in business and still makes the best pizza in town at its original Mockingbird Lane location. As a youngster, I always found it amusing that Campisi’s accepted payment by cash only — no checks, no credit cards, just cold hard cash. (Since the untimely passing of the senior Mr. Campisi, the restaurant has expanded into a local chain and takes plastic now.)

I still eat at the Egyptian Restaurant on occasion. The food is still good, although the decor has changed a bit. Campisi’s had a really cool KLIF AM 1190 neon clock over the bar for years. I wonder whatever happened to that clock...
