So do I. The "Left", in this country with help going all the way back to the Kremlin, picked at America's scabs and made them bleed. That's the only "conspiracy" I am willing to buy.
When the Soviet Union fell, I asked a friend of mine, who is very pro Irish IRA and very anti-British, what the IRA was going to do for funds, now that the KGB was broke. He looked at me funny, as if he didn't understand. A year later, when the IRA began suing for peace at the same time searching the world for money to carry on their "struggle", he understood. He is no longer pro IRA.
The 60's and the 70's were the last expression of Soviet Communists. There are still, however, a few holdouts.
You're right. 1965 was a very calm year. I remember a relative getting drafted that year, and my brother enlisted in the Navy because he was going to get drafted. Even 1966 was calm as I remember. Then the people in cities and on campuses started rioting, and by '68, things were out of control. Women didn't wear hats and gloves anymore.
However after living through both JFK's assasination and 911 there is NO COMPARISON in my mind. Assasinations have happened before in this country. An attack on our HOMELAND of this magnitude is completely without parallel.
