The packages are going in the mail! Sorry to be such a pain. Pain? Please. :-) Your confusion is understandable, and I apologize if those of us familiar with the process did not provide more specifics for others. Your efforts are greatly appreciated!

I made it to the post office with packages today Sat 11/29. At this time they are not guaranteeing delivery in time for Christmas delivery even when shipping priority mail. With the attack on the DHL cargo plane in Baghdad all flights has been suspended. DHL had been flying in a lot of the mail for our guys, so its back to military flights and a long wait for mail temporarily. Bummer. Not surprising, but I'll still keep my fingers crossed that our packages arrive before Santa Claus does. If not, they'll be pleasant post-Christmas surprises. :-)

Thanks, Coop. I have bookmarked this thread for future reference on how to "reach out and touch" our soldiers in different ways. In January a local National Guard Unit will be shipping out for Afghanistan - many of whom I know and will want to support personally.

I'd love to send letters/packages to our folks in Afghanistan, so please keep me in mind.

...and around...
(We gotta' be careful Coop, the Political Correctness Mind Police from DU might
think this sounds gendered-biased with the "her" refering to the thread!)
