Does ABC explain how Oswald got three rounds off that fast from a Mannlicher-Carcano bolt action rifle?

The network says it has "footage never before seen on TV" as well as "eyewitness testimony from people who've never spoken about it until now."

Does anyone really think there any actual "eyewitnesses" who have kept silent about what they saw for the last 40 years?

They avoided the topic of the bolt action rifle...as do most people who are familiar with the gun topic. If you were going to pick a rifle to perform this type of function...this is the worst weapon possible to choose from. However, if you were extremely short on funds...and wanted a cheap rifle...then this one fits the bill....which most people tend to tie to Oswald because he wasn't swimming in a ocean of cash. From the day he returned from Russia....he was barely surving and never showed any kind of capital whatsoever. So, buying the rifle may make sense from the financial standpoint....but how would anyone possibly fire off three rounds that fast...and be so perfect of a shot with a lousy gun? And correct me if I am wrong....can anyone prove this guy ever went out on weekends to fire the gun prior to the whole episode? I can't recall any report saying Oswald went out target practicing ever.

I lived in Dallas when JFK was assassinated and I can tell you that virtually every theory EXCEPT that proposed by the Warren Commission is likely valid.

Here are some facts most people DON'T know about this assassination. LBJ was a Texan who, in his rise to power, had developed a reputation as a ruthless politician who would stop at nothing to gain power. It is reputed that he had one or two opponents (I don't recall the number any more) for a seat on a west Texas school board murdered in order to ensure his victory.

The assassination of Kennedy occurred in Texas. LBJ was from Texas. He had political allies in Texas who would do anything for him . . . including murder a sitting President. Prior to becoming VP, LBJ had been an up and coming star in the Senate and, for several years prior to the 1960 election, was the presumed heir apparent of the WH (I have this well documented in some bound Time magazines from the period). JFK came out of nowhere and took that away from him. I, and many Texans, believe that LBJ took the VP post and bided his time until he could get rid of JFK and take the presidency for himself. Notice how quickly he acted to have himself sworn in as President after the assassination.

Lee Harvey Oswald was a patsy, nothing more. He was setup as the fall guy and that's what he did. If you look at the Zapruder film closely, the bullet that took the back of JFK's head off came from the front. You will notice that his head jerks backward as it would by being struck from the front. Had he been killed by LHO shooting from behind, his head would have jerked forward and the FRONT of hus skull would have been blown out, NOT the back. Jack Ruby was also setup to make sure that LHO NEVER talked and NEVER made it to trial.

The facts and the physics of the assassination scenario that the government gave have never added up. If everything was on the up and up, why were NONE of the members of the press in a truck following 20 feet behind the Johnson car NEVER asked to testify by the Warren Commission? If everything was on the up and up, why were the official records of the Warren Commission ordered to be sealed for 75 years; enough time for ALL of the principals in the assassination to be dead and in their graves? Who was getting protected by sealing those records? And who benefitted from JFK's assassination?

IMO, the answers lead straight back to LBJ. He had the motive and, in Dallas, he had the opportunity. and, he was the sole beneficiary.

So, Jennings and ABC can make up their lies and present them as the waste of broadcast time they will be and Fox can cast doubt on the assassination as doubt should be cast. But, IMO, LBJ was and remains, the ONLY "brains" behind the assassination.

I was there.

In the 1960's the Left immediately created JFK assassination conspiracy theories (the Mafia,FBI,CIA and Right Wingers did it) in order to distract people from the fact that one of their own killed Kennedy. They did not want people to realize that Kennedy was killed by a Marxist. Leftists are masters of deception. They have manipulated people's minds into looking away from the obvious truth. Oswald was a Communist who lived in the USSR and traveled to Cuba. He worshipped Castro. Kennedy humiliated the Soviets and his hero Castro by making them back down in the Cuban Missle Crisis. Oswald killed Kennedy as payback. It's amazing that so many people on the Right have fallen for the Lefts deception.

I think most people who have studied the assassination can reasonably conclude that the Dallas mob handled the deed.

The only question beyond that is for whom. You say it was LBJ, but this same power-hungry climber stood down for re-election five years later.

I'm of the belief Carlos Marcello and other southern mob leaders who were screwed over when Havana fell to Castro had a hand in it, and perhaps it collided and overlapped with the active anti-Castro elements in the national security apparatus of the time.

Vendetta is an Italian word.

On Nov. 20, ABC will air a two hour special narrated by Peter Jennings, which offers a computer-generated re-enactment of the assassination.

Disney / ABC "News" offers the cartoon version. In the opening scenes Mickey.. er, Oswald is shown reading the Dallas newspaper the morning of the shooting. Influenced by the many hateful, mean-spirited, racist, homophobic, xenophobic, bigoted anti-Kennedy ads placed by rightwing, ultra-conservative white supremacist groups young Mr. Oswald decides to take his rifle to work. . . .

It was always my belief the communists were involved as well. The mafia with anti/Castro elements is a possibility too, but the Marxists have no qualms whatsoever with killing head of states or other leaders.

The Bulgarians it is highly suspected tried to assassinate Pope John Paul, and if true the KGB had to know about it, and that would be the same if Cuba was involved with this. On top of that Castro is a nut who saw killing Kennedy as preserving his own pathetic life, so a motive existed which could not rule him out as a suspect.

Oswald had Communist connections, including his time in Russia and his visit to Cuba. One possibility is certainly a Communist conspiracy. Another is that Castro wanted revenge for the Bay of Pigs and an assassination attempt.

A second area of suspicion is Kennedy's Mob connections. He may have angered the Cosa Nostra by womanizing with gang women or going back on a deal.

A third area of suspicion is certainly LBJ, who was indeed absolutely ruthless, corrupt, and perfectly capable of doing such a deed. Kennedy won by vote packing in Chicago and Texas. He needed to bring LBJ into his administration to get elected. That may not have been smart. Who profited most directly by the assassination?

It's extremely unlikely that either of these TV programs will throw any new light on the case, however. They wouldn't dare, even if they turned up any new answers.

I recommend going to a video store and renting a copy of the movie "Winter Kills," a fictionalized version of the JFK assassination. It's by the director of "The Manchurian Candidate," but it's even better, IMHO.

Narrated by Fox host Greta Van Susteren, the one hour special will review with the network says were "some surprising mistakes" made by police - "mistakes that led to confusion for the investigators and fodder for conspiracy theorists."

Greta's conclusion? Scott Peterson did it.

On Nov. 20, ABC will air a two hour special narrated by Peter Jennings, which offers a computer-generated re-enactment of the assassination.

The network says it has thoroughly investigated Kennedy's death and insists that they have uncovered the truth through the use of a computer-generated re-enactment of the assassination.

Petah's conclusion? George W. Bush is responsible.

LBJ didn't run for re-election 'cause Bobby Kennedy had the goods on him.

I don't doubt that rivalry was intense, but RFK didn't announce until after LBJ stood down.

actually physics states that what JFK's head did, is exactly what happens when hit from behind with a bullet, and the autopsy pictures prove JFK was hit from the back.
case closed.

Oswald was an expert shot, and was seen several times at a shooting range. Conspiracy buffs have always claimed it was someone being used to frame Oswald. Even leading to his being exhumed to double check it was him.

That sounds interesting. Thanks for the heads-up.

IIRC, Johnson's health was failing in 1968. How long did he live after standing down?
