Please contact your Congressional representative to let them know that after Lambreau and Jindal we're not in the mood to send pork to Louisiana in the energy bill.

Louisiana stands to collect about $1 billion We don't need to send any cash there anymore. We lost that election. Why feed the beast?
(Boycott their sugar).
Is there a way to stop this?

Bush will sign it He better not. He's on thin ice already. He can't afford to lose more conservative votes. He needs to watch his step right now. Spending another billion is NOT a good thing.

After what happened tonight in Louisiana, I'm inclined to let 'em get what they voted for: an oppressive, high-tax, lousy party that gives lip service to family values, but on a national level spits on all children--undereducated ones in the inner city and unborn ones in the womb.

Doesn't matter...who are you (they) going to vote for, "Dean"??? ;)No way, but those who feel $$ conservatism is their top (or only )issue will vote for the person who promises to spend less. Libertarians and swing voters. He can't afford to lose them to an independant. Remember Perot? (I still think he was a Democrat plant)

PS....I'm a conservative/conservative. I think Bush is the best man for national security, but his national $$ policies really suck.

I think Bush is the best man for national security I would be with you on this, IF GWB would "lock-down" the borders with "military like" force.
But then...the "New World Order" that his daddy dreamed of, would have "no such thing"...as borders.

I'd rather see that go to the military. They could use it a heck of a lot more. I read where he's cutting back on military schools for the service families? The kids are being forced into failing public schools.

Incentative programs are good. Might persuade California and Florida to open up their coasts for exploration!

The bills also contains a mandate to double the production of the corn-based gasoline additive ethanol, a provision pushed by Midwestern lawmakers. Objective analyses indicate that you always spend more energy than you get to produce ethanol. If it worked Brazil would not have fallen on its face trying it whole hog with more efficiently converted feedstock than corn. In other words this is oil shale and Synfuels Corp. all over again. Our "leaders" are deluding themselves and helping the other side immeasurably in the War on Terror. This is the way to lose the War, not win it.

Democrats won the govenorship...get over it. We lost this one...face it. GWB isnt going to go around and start pulling funds from a state just because they dont pick a Republican govenor. This is still a democracy. You might also want to remember that Louisiana was a Bush state last election. The bill will help him in '04

Don't you think G.W. has "written off" the strongest conservatives? He is telling them by his actions, what Lee Iacocca used to tell auto customers: "If you find another candidate that you like better, vote for him!"
To: concerned about politics
Don't worry he will. Along with something even worse like prescription drug benefits so that the country will be hopelessly in debt for a hundred years or until our economy and/or government collapses under its own weight, long after the GOP has happily returned to permanent minority status.
