It's one of the few infixes in English.

Well it should be noted that these expressions are used routinely on HBO, MAX, and the like after 8PM, and it is not all that uncommon for them to be used much earlier than that. I think you also have to look at the messenger, and not the device. What programs and the like are incorporating this trash into their programming? That is the real question.

There are those who live good lives and shouldn't have to be subjected to gutter language over the public airwaves.
There are some things worth fighting for. Decency is one of them.

Seriously though; What's the big deal. It's just a word. You must not have children or a mother.

Oh yeah! Since opinions are a-holes and everyone has one, here's mine.
So what? It makes a good excuse to turn off the TV. It's TV. No one has to turn on the TV. I usually watch sports events and that's about it besides an occasional show or movie here and there.
There are a lot more important troubles than the f-bomb on TV or radio. The economy. The number of abortions. Gun grabbers. That mf'er George Soros. The Democraps. Bin Laden's people.

I recall one line from a Who song:
"your brother's gonna kill me? Oh... f***ing will he?"
Radio has never bothered to bleep it out, anywhere I have ever lived.

I have no problem with good ol' Anglo-Saxon... it beats kowtowing to the effete and attenuated vestiges of the forcibly imposed bigotry of the French (cf: Battle of Hastings, 1066AD)

OK.
From snopes.com we have,"This statement falls far short of supporting the claim that the FCC has now approved the "f-word" to be used at any time, in any context, in radio and TV programming it addressed one specific context in which the word was allowed (a "fleeting and isolated" remark used as "an adjective or expletive to emphasize an exclamation") while reiterating that certain other uses of the "f-word" (describing or depicting "sexual activities") were still not permissible under current FCC regulations. "
IMO, the door is pretty open then for the F word to come on TV fairly often. And it is a bad decision on the part of the FCC. There's no sense of decency in the public square anymore, and, yes it does matter.
The AFA announcement was a bit overly dramatic, but their point is arguably true.

It truely is the most versatile word in the English language. Moreso than "swell"?
Noun, adjective, intransitive verb, transitive verb, adverb, and interjection, all without modication [no "ing" etc.]

Seriously though; What's the big deal. It's just a word. The reason I am against this word being destigmatized is because of what it is the symbol of. Its object is an act that impacts the most vulnerable and behavior modifying part of our experience as humans.
I have yet to see a child ready to handle the destructive effect of sensations so alluring, and addictive. Many adults have a rough time handling it.
If the symbol is destigmatized, I'm concerned the importance and real effect will be diluted and that would make it hard, if not impossible, to control a child's natural desire to hop into those boiling waters.
As a parent I would have the responsibility of keeping my kids off paths that are prowled by beasts much too large for them to deal with.
I think the effects on society by devaluing the act has progressed in a direction that has not been positive an any way.
I was in the service. I saw a lot of whores at a lot of ports, and some in America. All of them, who have been in the trade a while, have eyes as hard as rocks, and, from my experience, that reflects that part in the inner being of a person that should be tinder.
And tinder certainly in a child.

yeh, besides it's real life. nothing new here. let's continue and increase the corruption.
To: Elliott Jackalope
Commonly used as a verb, a noun, an adjective, an adverb and an expletive. Don't the adjectival and adverbial usages require adding "ing"? The term "swell" can be used as a verb, noun, adjective, adverb, or interjection all without any modification whatsoever.

True --- I saw a really good deal on hand-held color televisions --- almost too good to pass up --- but then I remember --- I don't even watch television anymore ---except for 24 hours, Frasier, and Just Shoot Me --- so I saved my money.
